Queerty is better as a member
His video is full of stereotypes, disaster, black-on-white violence, and doesn’t do gays any justice. The interracial relationship was completely unnecessary and did more harm than good. Murs should stick to what he knows: Being a black straight guy.
I am a filmmaker and as a short film, I really loved the video. I thought it told cohesive story and hit all the dramatic beats well. I didn’t see a ton of stereotyping in the video from either character.
as for the ‘interracial relationship’ part, it has long been film shorthand to have characters in a same sex relationship be of different ethic backgrounds.
I think he is a brave, strong brother and I am happy to have him on our side. Every voice counts. I really doubt he even thought of race in castings the actors. I have never dated any one because he was black or white or Arab for that matter. I have only dated men because I find them attractive or they draw me in some way. Maybe the white actor was simply the best guy to show up that day. Terms like “snow queen Or rice queen” are just stupid. If I am dating someOne it isn’t because the color of their skin but how we interact. I have never not dated someone due tO their race. Anyone not willing to date their perfect guy on paper because he isn’t some race is stupid and a waste of space. A smart, funny, attractive guy no matter the race is a catch and if you people don’t want him Pass him along to me.
Why are so many of my black black brothers snow queens?
@Marcus: I don’t believe that there are a lot of black gay guys dating white men. When I go to black bars with my partner I get plenty of stupid stares from a*holes like you. There is nothing wrong with dating black men, just the right white guy came along and hit on me. If a brother had met me before with the same qualities I would have been with him. I don’t care what color the guy is, We are all human! I care how you treat me, how we connect. If you have never met a white or Latin or purple dude that does it for you ok, but stop hating on people not as narrow minded as you are. I know there isn’t anything my guy wouldn’t do for me. I know when I am older and not as hot he will stand by my side. I know if I had cancer he would stay to the end. That is all that matters really right? Do you have anyone in your life like that? And if you do, would you suddenly not want them if they were white? Asian? Arab? If your relationship is so based in the other person being black and nothing else is that really love?
“Why are so many of my black black brothers snow queens?”
Jealous because men you find attractive are repulsed by you?
Try and be less transparent. Oh and by the way, from the filth you post, I’m guessing it’s the personality.
@Adam: “jealous because men you find attractive are repulsed by you.” Lawl, why do gay white men BRAG about that??? Honey those house ni88ers you’re describing are filled with self-hatred and what black man or any man with common sense would want some thing like that? Cheers to you though sweetness if that’s what gets your panties wet.
@Marcus: Baby that’s just the image they portray here on Stormfront,I mean Queerty. I live in Atlanta and LGBT people of color date one another all the time. This Queerty shit is only reality to those they are trying to target
@Scribe37: I here what you are saying I’m talking about the black gay me who don’t date other black men.I just dont get it.
@Ms.Peachez: Thanks maybe its just what I see in the media you never see a black gay couple. As for the video if the target is young black kids into rap and hip hop wouldn’t it have need more sense to have to black kids?
@Ms.Peachez: Why are you here? If you dont find White men attractive go to LGBT of color site
@Marcus: I do not agree with any person saying that they don’t date people of their own race. White men who start off saying they “only date brothers” will never have a chance to date me. It is like saying, “all white guys are unworthy” while not realizing it makes them unworthy. In my mind those guys are only looking for a type of guy, not a complete person. If you cannot see and understand me, I do not have time to teach. While I disagree with anyone refusing to date within their race, I have a big problem calling them names. Any group of people mistreated as much as african americans should know better than to reduce people to labels. “snow queens..etc.”
Lastly just want to say it isn’t just other brothers who look at me strange because I am with an white guy. I have heard a number of rude comments from white gays at bars, some as stupid as some of the racist statements posted regularly on this site. Again I believe this falls into the minority abusing smaller groups. (To all racist queerty readers) If you don’t want to date outside of your race then don’t, but don’t heap hate on a loving couple because you haven’t found it in your own life. Maybe if you looked more in the mirror at your uglyness than at others’ skin color, you would.
@Kim: Put down the crack pipe miss lady and and open a window. You read what you wanted to, so either take a night class in reading comprehension or wipe the grease off your glasses. Are you upset because LGBT folk of color don’t think about white gay men every five seconds?? Get over your ego gurl and have a seat.
I have friends who are a couple and are both black, and I see such couples out at the bars and other events, not that infrequently. My former partner is black; I’m white. To be honest, I almost didn’t go on our first date because I had some silly preconceptions about culture differences and, frankly, had just never imagined myself in an interrational couple. Thank God, I let my more rational, mature self win the argument in my head, and we had seven mostly good years together. Although the relationship eventually came to an end, that had nothing to do with each other’s race. I kind of get what some here are saying though: You do run into black guys who express a preference for white guys (and vice versa), and I can’t help but wonder sometimes where that comes from. Doesn’t seem likely that it comes from a place of self-worth. Having strong racial preferences for one’s potential partners strikes me as suspect, in general, because that preference must draw its power from stereotypes, many of them very negative.
@Ms.Peachez: @Ms.Peachez: I’m glad you post here. Please continue. I want other white gays to see what you black queens are really all about, if it isn’t already clear.
Everyone’s going gay for pay! Like we didn’t expect the attention needy to jump on da bandwagon.
@Colin: Oh Grand Dragon, give it a rest. Don’t you have a cross you should be burning somewhere?
@Marcus: Anytime. Yes, that would make more sense, but you know hollywood and that o.k.
@Ms.Peachez: You just keep it up. I like what I see.
@Colin: Psssssssst. Same thang you said to that little boy in the Wal-Mart bathroom riiiittteeee? Pedo Pete. Gurl I enjoy you too. smooochez.
@Ms.Peachez: Good, then we’re both enjoying you. Keep it up, LOL.
(To most commentors on Queerty) It is painful to see how we treat each other. How can we expect the rest of the world to respect us, when we cannot get along with each other. We take our small minority and form closed little groups, trying to act like the popular kids we wished we were in high school, cutting and seperating those that don’t fit our ideal. People should really stop posting hurtful things that they would not have the balls to say out in public.
people do not reply to Colin then he will disappear back to his mothers room until someone goes down to feed him.
@colin I will not read the rest of this post so I do not care what you post as a response. I feel sorry for you. Your comments at Queerty shows you for the repulsive person that you are.
We are all quite aware that as soon as there are any topics about black people, you will climb out of your mothers bed and paste and copy some comment from stormfront.Must really be sad that your only avenue to communicate is with a fake profile.
If you do decide to respond in the negative, I will take this opportunity to use an American vernacular, “back back atcha”.
@hassia: I agree except I would say “profiles” since he likes to use a lot of sock puppets
@hassia: Comments like this are so typical of your race.
Why do people always have to react badly to an interracial couple ? What’s wrong ? Did you get dumped by a former lover with different skin color than yours so you get bitter about that ? Or do you secretly like someone with different skin color than yours but they simply don’t like you in return ?
Everyone has the right to love who they want. If 2 gay men are in love and they happen to have different skin colors, so what ? That’s none of your business!
Everyone has their own taste and no matter what you say, you can’t force anyone to like someone else, it must come naturally.
Haven’t what the video yet but I think it’s nice to at least make a subject which is somewhat still supposed to be a taboo in Hip Hop/Rap music visible.
Apparently “Colin” has a major chip on his shoulder when it comes to black people, poor thing lol.
@scribe37, IRT #20: THIS IS WHAT HOLDS US BACK. And by “us” I mean humanity.
I’ve only been dating white girls since 6th grade, no one before that. When I figured out that I like guys, it’s been 1 sexy Hispanic that actually showed me that I like guys, then everything else has been with dating white guys. That’s just who I am attracted to. I really haven’t given any fucks what everyone else thinks.
@Eldred: “Snow Queens” usually don’t, LOL. So much for “black pride,” eh?
@Colin: I don’t know what Black pride has to do with anything. Also, I’ve only heard the term “Snow Queen” a few times between other people in my teens, and If that’s some sort of derogatory term towards me, so be it.
@Eldred: “Snow Queen” is what somebody else called blacks like you. I just think it’s funny and also think it’s funny that a black would only want to date other non-blacks. I thought “blacks is beautiful.” LOL.
@Colin: I see, it’s just label. As well, It’s not that I only want to date “non-blacks” it’s just who I am attracted to. I find Kevin Hart to be as sexy as sexy can be. I just don’t think I would try to date him. “Snow Queen”.. very interesting. :)
@Eldred: “I find Kevin Hart to be as sexy as sexy can be. I just don’t think I would try to date him.”
I don’t understand this. What do you mean if I may ask?
@Colin: Yeah, that came out strange. What I mean, is while I find him very sexy, and really funny.. If he were gay and I met him in a bar, I don’t think I would hit on him as much as I would try to have him over with some other friends for a BBQ party.. If that helps.
@Eldred: your self-hate is showing. JSYK.
@trevor: That doesn’t make any sense.
