Introducing "The Wachowskis"
Won't Be "Speeding" To Interview

The Wachowski Brothers are dropping the "Brothers," because one of the boys, Larry, will now be a girl, Lana.

Ms. Wachowski, who worked with brother Andy to bring us The Matrix franchise, began taking hormones a few years ago and, from the looks of it, they're working. Go, girl!

While it's great to have such a prominent, powerful person bringing trans issues to the forefront, Lana says she won't do press until after the release of Speed Racer, according to Rated-M:

[Lana] will actually speak to the press about this for the first time, but not until after the Speed Racer film is out. The current feeling is that his sex change could hurt the family image the Speed Racer film is going for.

It is also expected that Andy will do all the press for the Speed Racer film, with Larry/Lana staying in the background for the above reason.

Once they've raked in their movie dough, the siblings will reportedly sit down with Dateline.

I never really liked the Matrix films because I can't stand Reeves, but I'm looking forward to the Speed Racer film.

As far as Lana, I think it's fantastic that the world will, (hopefully,) see a powerful transgendered person.

Wow…wow. Wowie wow wow! I'm such a sci-fi geek I'm trying to see if there were any clues in the Matrix movies or anime…nothing comes to mind except for the fact that all the female characters like Trinity and Naiobe were super-butch. Except for Persephone.

Did I say wow? I can't wait to find out how this will go over with my straight male friends.

There was a lesbian kiss with Naiobe and Persephone in the Matrix game.
