Iowa, Maryland: 2 Stupid Attempts to Block Recognition of Gay Marriages Failing Awesomely

In Iowa, State Rep. Chris Hagenow tried defining marriage as between one man and one woman by inserting language into a bill intended to protect domestic abuse victims; his effort failed. In Maryland, County Del. Don Dwyer is attempting to impeach Attorney General Douglas Gansler for something like “incompetency” or “willful neglect of duty or misdemeanor in office” because he dared advise state agencies that the law requires them to recognize gay marriages from out-of-state; the effort could “end with Dwyer being escorted from the chamber.”
