Is Anybody Else Worried Jesus Is Gonna Bring The Bads To True Blood‘s Lafayette?

OMG they were so cute last night! Jesus (played by Kevin Alejandro) had the day off from caring for Lafayette’s mother Ruby Jean Reynolds, and so he stopped by Merlotte’s to hit on the cook. And Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) was smitten! This makes me worried. (Possible spoilers ahead.)

Like much of the Internet, I suspect Jesus is a member of the supernatural clan. A witch, goes the common wisdom. For good or for bad, though? Alejandro, who sizzles, has signed on for a full season arc, which means he’s not going anywhere — and which also means Lafayette might finally find himself a relationship. Though we know how these things always work out: badly.

Between these two and the gay vampires — oh, and the same-sex sex dreams and Aleksander Skarsgard doing The Gay in real life — HBO is certainly making up for lost time post-Six Feet Under, where the gays made for some of the most engrossing characters. Just please nobody let Jesus break out little Lafayette’s heart!

Glad Lafayette is getting some love but if it goes like everything else he is gonna die or be evil. I REALLY hope he isn’t evil. Rather not have another bad guy gay character (gay vampires are the bad guys and though Lafayette isn’t a bad guy he doesn’t have a stellar record).

Nobody on this show gets to be happy for too long, except maybe Sookie and Jason(I have no idea why he gets to be happy…murderer).

I love Lafayette and Jesus already, but I won’t be surprised if things get weird.

I am so bored with vampire shows. I don’t watch them, and it’s still almost all I hear about. I get it. Vampires are a nice allegory for sex and virginity. And I love Alan Ball. But remember when vampires were just terrifying monsters? I miss that. Stupid Ann Rice, sexing up all the good monsters. I’m waiting for the Sexy Frankenstein show.

I hope Lafayette finds some happiness (and steamy sex scenes) with Jesus. After being locked in Eric’s basement, he needs some joy.Lafayette is one of my favorite characters on TV because Nelsan makes him really believable. That was sweet how Jesus just hung out at Merlotte’s for 9 hours so he could look at Lafayette. Franklin Mott is terribly funny and boisterously scary.

Here’s my hoping that Jesus will be both Lafayette’s lover, and out of love protector against Eric. I’d love to see a scene w/Eric or his hag Fangtasia co-owner threatening Lafayette and then out of nowhere and with a supernatural wave of his hand Jesus (if a warlock) throws ‘em across an entire room into a wall, hard. Sookie isn’t the only one who should get a good relationship on this show :)

After last nights flirtation between Eric and the Vampire King’s Real Housewife of Louisiana I’m 100% certain that Eric is not only bisexual but sexually intrigued by Lafayette so I don’t think he’ll really need protection from him.

They have great chemistry – can’t wait to see what bizarre complications arise in the coming weeks.

I like True Blood, but its really delving deep into campy soap opera territory this season. I don’t see why every character has to have a parallel plot, with a love interest, and some sexy supernatural danger. God. Can’t they just plot out a regular story?

@Pip: Blame the author of the book series the plot of the show is VERY close to the actual detailing of the novel collection!
