Though nobody is taking credit for an 11th hour direct mail campaign that calls Warren Redlich, New York’s Libertarian gubernatorial candidate, a sex predator, his wife Heather is blaming Republican competitor Carl Paladino — whose campaign denies the charge. But c’mon: You basically paint yourself into a corner when you’re a candidate that has no problem with racist and bestiality emails, or fecal attack ads. The mailers, which went out to a few hundred homes, list Redlich’s home address (which is publicly available), labels him a “sick, twisted pervert,” and says he’s a danger to children. And as we all know, sexual predators are a pet topic of Carl’s.

I just read the post linked from the mailer, and am now more confused. Apparently, he’s a “sexual predator” because he doesn’t think naughty pictures of Miley Cyrus are the end of the world as we know it?
That’s kind of a stretch, even for Paladino, and even accounting for the fact that politics is pretty much all about hyperbole these days.
