Is Clay Aiken Really Announcing a 17-City Tour With Ruben Studdard?

An April Fool’s prank, or a legitimate return to the stage? On his website, Clay Aiken says he and fellow Idol alum Ruben Studdard are going on tour together. It’ll be called “Timeless,” kicks off July 23 in Clay’s home state of North Carolina, and will be more entertaining than the every episode of the current American Idol season combined.

The tour was announced last night on Idol by Ruben. It looks legit.

Check this video out too! He’s jumping in with both feet.

It should be a great tour. They both have amazing voices and their comedic interaction has always been hilarious.

I am so excited about this tour. A few dates have been coming in slowly and it is good to see so many now. I already have tickets to the Reno show.

Thanks for posting this great information.

Ok Please, I’m begging the Clay Aiken fans…..go ahead and come on here and rave about him and the tour, but try to avoid yelling at all of “The Gays” telling us we are evil for not putting posters up of Clay Aiken as our savior and the best person in the entire world, and how we should have parades ordering the world to buy Clay CD’s and proclaim holidays on his birthday.

That said, the tour sounds like a smart idea. Neither of these two have been as visible musically lately (Especially Ruban), both have different fan bases and this would have each fan base hear the others music and possible buy a CD they wouldn’t have before. Whichever one of their PR people thought this up definitly made a smart suggestion.

This sounds awesome. Both of these men sing the standards so well. It should also be fun seeing as they both love to pick on each other. Sounds like a fun night for those who will attend.

So excited about seeing these two friends on stage together again. They are both talented people who never fit into the image prototype of pop music, all the more reason to appreciate the respect they have always shown each other. Saw Clay recently at filming of his PBS special — Ruben was a surprise guest. The short set together was beautifully sung and it was hilarious at the same time. A whole concert of that kind of stage presence, maturity and talent will be a great night of entertainment.

Yeah, the two of them once recorded a song together, right?
      “Jesus Is Love”, I think.

      @fredo777:

Actually, they sang that song at the American Music Awards the year Clay won. Unfortunately, they never recorded the song.

I think the two of them touring together is a great idea. These two are the best of friends and they are so funny together. When they sing together their voices blend so nicely. I can hardly wait to see this tour.

Ruben made an appearance on the taping of Clay Aiken’s PBS special. They still have the same chemistry and both always could sing and have maintained their friendship. Also they are very funny together. Should be a great concert to attend.

It’s legit. Several dates are already on Ticketmaster and some of the venues have them listed on their summer schedules.

Ruben was a special guest at Clay’s PBS concert in March. That will be televised this summer. The ARE good friends.

Wow! This should be great. They apparently are great friends which should translate into great on stage chemistry. Love both their voices, Clay a bit more….but Rube is good. Hope there is a concert near me.

@fredo777: If you have a mp3, it is not a professional recording and was taken by a fan from a video of the event. I wish they had recorded that song.

Clay has been very very busy and extremely successful star over these years. It is too bad that the media only wants to post negative things and not put up front-page news about all the good he does. He has said from the beginning that his singing career is only a stage for helping his causes. He has walked his talk and shown that with UNICEF and his foundation including many other incredibly positive things he has accomplished that no one ever hears about.

@Larkan: You’re actually suggesting that between Ruben + Clay it is Clay’s fanbase who (on the whole) has more sane members than Ruben’s? hmmm sounds a little suspect.

After watching all 9 seasons of “American Idol”, these are definitely still the best 2 male voices the show has ever produced. I think my mom & sister will enjoy this show a lot, so I’m planning on taking them with my boyfriend.

Will definitely attend this concert, as no one has ever surpassed Clay Aiken’s fantastic voice and stage appeal. Ruben has a nice smooth voice, and the two together will do very well indeed. They can actually sing!!!!
