Mitrice Richardson, 25, the Los Angeles lesbian who went missing after police released her from custody in September without any money or belongings, and possibly knowing she was mentally unstable, might still be alive and in the Las Vegas area, authorities believe. “It’s not definitive, it’s not absolute,” says a sheriff’s spokeswoman, noting the department will hold a presser tomorrow with Las Vegas authorities requesting Mitrice — arrested after being unable to pay a $89 restaurant bill — contact authorities. There have been some 80 possible sightings in the Vegas area, and her father Michael Richardson says a Sheriff’s Department official informed him Mitrice might be working as a prostitute. Her mother Latice Sutton has filed a lawsuit against the sheriff’s department for acting “grossly negligent” and leading to Mitrice’s disappearance.
