Since the “skating world” has been so shitty to him and corporate homophobia has kept him from getting sponsors… the guy has to set up the next phase of his working life. Good for him.

I agree. Whatever else his personality deficiencies, he is still the subject of discrimination — which, incidentally, might be the cause of a lot of his attitude. Hope he writes a really down and dirty tell-all, which should include who he’s been dating. As for his costumes, all that off the shoulder cleavage and rhinestones look good on him, so if people don’t like it, like he says “suck it.”

Or his attitude is the cause of people not liking him. Rudy Galindo came out of the closet and still went on to win the U.S. National crown. The judges gave him the win even though he was out. Weir has been somewhat of a spoiled pain in the ass for years.

What he dosen’t realize is that he puts himself in a strange little corner. One would assume him to be Gay, yet he does not admit it. The hetros are freaked out by his antics and he leaves himself without anyone rooting for him. I personally love his antics. The head of the US Figure Skating Association refused to acknowledge his status on the website because they wanted “to put a more masculine face” on figure skating!! I hope Johnny qWeir continues to ruffle (and wear) feathers in the skating circles for years…………….

Bingo! If he was out, i’d be e-mailing the Skating association if I thought they were hassling the guy, but as of now he is basically saying he’s a straight guy, so no discrimination there for me to back him up on. Additionally, he has a reality show, and he really does come off as a bit of a douchebag in it. continually talking about how outrageous and in your face he is. (Yawn)
