It’s National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Now Go Get Tested

Today is National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. It’s not politically correct to say, but there’s no denying that men who have sex with men are a disturbingly large segment of the HIV-positive population. One of the biggest problems is gay and bisexual men who don’t know they’re positive.

So be a part of the solution: Get yourself tested today.

And we’re not gonna let you off the hook because you can’t get an appointment with your doctor. A great widget, the HIV/AIDS Prevention and Service Locator, links users with facilities offering testing, treatment, mental-health and substance-abuse services and other resources.

Just enter your zip code or nearest town for locations, which are presented on an interactive map. Click on markers on the map for more details and directions for each location.

Until there’s a cure, knowledge is our strongest medicine.
