Jack Mackenroth Is An Inspiration To Us All

If you're one of those crazy people who hates spoilers – or hasn't been following along – then we suggest you stop reading….now!

For the rest of you, you're well aware that Jack Mackenroth got the Project Runway boot last night. It's tragic, yes, but the New York-based designer will not let a little staph infection slow him down. He's sent around this uplifting Flashdance spoof. He's a maniac on the subway floor!

Meanwhile, we just dug up these pictures from The Youth Issue – Jackie, is that you?!

For the sake of accuracy (try looking it up in the dictionary sometime) Jack did not get the boot on Project Runway. He made the choice to leave the show after a previous MRSA staph infection reappeared and his doctor suggested stronger, immediate treatment. MRSA staph infections kill more people in America yearly than AIDS-related illnesses. The most recent estimates are 16,000 deaths a year. In case you haven't seen a newspaper lately, entire high schools have had to be shut down and made antiseptic after students came down with the MRSA infection.

"Given the boot" has the implication that he was kicked off which would seem to mean that his work was the worst of the contestants. This most assuredly was not true.

"Jack Mackenroth got the Project Runway boot last night." Didn't Jack leave the show for health reasons?

Jack didn't get the boot. He is so funny in this video – I love him and want him to come back next year – so everyone write to Bravo. We like to jack off but we want Jack back on.
