Jamaican Police Think This Man Killed John Terry. But Not ‘Cause He Was Gay

e-fit_1480254c1

THE SHOT — A sketch of the alleged murderer of John Terry, the British honorary counsel, killed last week in Jamaica. Officials there released the suspect’s photo while simultaneously playing down the notion Terry was the victim of (yet another) anti-gay crime on the island.

Jamaica, like a Hilton mashed up with Haiti. What gay man in his right mind would go there? Not this one.

I think we need to ostracize Jamaica. We need to pressure cruise ship companies to avoid the island. Writing to such companies might seem like a trivial thing but all movements begin with tiny steps.

A butterfly flapping its wings may not achieve much per se but it can cause a whole chain of events that produces consequences down the track.

Of course they are playing down the hate crime angle. It’s bad for business. Though how anyone can describe a bigoted hateful country with the highest murder rate in the world as an island paradise is beyond me.

I noticed they also describe the supposed (if not fictionary) suspect as a black man with “bleached skin” how hard can it be to find this man on a small island? Or are they planning to blame it on Michael Jackson’s ghost?

As a resident in Jamaica, persons with “bleached skin”, men and women, come dime a dozen. The image that the police dispatched will not be helpful as every other youth seen on the road, in the bar, at parties, trades, st8′s etc will fit that description. Sadly, this killing brings back memories of the death of Ambassador Peter King (a black Jamaican)also found naked in his mansion with several stab wounds and his throat slashed. His killer was eventually found, and after a media spectacle, tried and convicted of the lesser offence of manslaughter. His defence, he was attacked by King, who his lawyer painted as a gay predator. Another Ambassador, from Russia, I believe, died the same night as King as a result of a “heart attack” – though reports were that he was attendance at the home of King at a party (the night King died) when certain tragic events unfolded. Sad to say, the gay angle will be played down in relation to Terry’s death, due to his diplomatic rank & connections, for now. If and when his killer is found then we will no doubt be overwhelmed with more stories of an impoverished youth attacked by the older aggressive gay man. Sad.

@Handsome: strange as it may seem, black men with bleached skin is a common sighting in Jamaica’s inner city communities -
