Jason Collins, who came out earlier this year, will help Macklemore & Ryan Lewis make their MTV Video Music Awards debut tonight. The NBA player will introduce the hip-hop duo, who will perform “Same Love,” which is up for “Best Video with a Social Message.” The group will also have Mary Lambert up on stage. Lambert, who sings the hook on “Same Love,” has spun the chorus into her own track, “She Keeps Me Warm.”
Other performers include Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke and more. The VMAs airs live at 9 pm tonight.
