Joan Rivers Returns to Television to Criticize Celebrity Fashion

Joan Rivers has been trying to get back on television for years. Now, her dream comes true.

Booted from even the red carpet, Rivers and a production company shopped around an ensemble gab fest that she would host; sort of like Chelsea Lately, as it would focus on pop culture and celebs and feature a panel of punchline-ready guests. It fell through. But as you might’ve seen in Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work, the woman lives to work, and she doesn’t give up. Her persistence paid off: E! has picked up Fashion Police, a weekly style show hosted by Rivers and, as you might expect, co-executive produced by her daughter Melissa.

And with an Emmys special arriving Aug. 30, Fashion Police will move to its regular timeslot at 10:30pm Fridays. Yes, Joel McHale is her lead-in. They should make out.
