Joe Rogan And His Stupid ‘Faggot’ Twitter Feud Over Ultimate Fighting Championship

Joe Rogan has a problem with The Gays. Or at least he has a problem when invoking them in public, like he did during his Ultimate Fighting Championship commentary, getting into a fight with Brazilian journalist Tomas Rios over something so dumb I couldn’t even finish the article (really, it is that stupid), but which included Rogan calling him a “faggot.” On Twitter. “You wanted my attention, f**got? You got it,” he wrote. Because really, what UFC needs right now is another machismo-fueled fuck throwing around the F-word.

Rogan posted this “apology,” which misses the whole point, and cements his status as a douchebag. I think it’s time to send in Daniel Puder.

I apologize for my use of the word “fa*got.” I enjoy that word immensely, and although I do not intend for its use to be interpreted as a negative term for homosexuals, but rather as I’ve always used it to imply that a person is weak and pathetic, which I believe Rios to be. I understand that in this ultra-sensitive, politically correct world we live in one must be careful of the words they choose, for in choosing the wrong one you can give your adversary a new angle of distraction, as I see Rios is concentrating on that now instead of owning up to the fact that he has no f*cking idea what the proper terminology of the kick he criticized me of describing was.

What’s really important is not a hot button insult word, or a disagreement on terms used to describe techniques, but rather completely incompetent reporters masquerading as martial arts experts. Rios is a negative a**hole that consistently insults fighters and produces fight breakdowns that resemble what I would expect from an angry failure with no friends who has spent too much time alone with a thesaurus trying to convince people that he’s clever.

I have sat back and watched this shit-head spout out his horrible, disrespectful nonsense for a long time, and was truly happy when he was fired by sherdog, and absolutely perplexed when I found out that Fighters Only Magazine is actually giving him actual real money for the bulls*it he’s trying to pass off as journalism.
Fighters Only is one of the very best magazines in the sport, and as per my correspondence with them I’m delighted that I’m not the only one that thinks he’s an a**hat and a terrible journalist.

When I saw that he had opened his dumb trap about me I welcomed the opportunity to shut him up.

As for my use of the offensive word “f**got” please accept my apologies and replace it with “c**k-sucker.”

Thank you, and good day.

Joe Rogan spends his days watching and commenting on sweaty, muscular men rolling around on the floor, hugging and climbing on top of each other for 10 minutes.

What exactly does that make him?

The worst thing about the “apology” is Rogan’s apparent belief that he’s zinging someone other than himself. Ooh, snap! He called you a cocksucker! Bleah.

Apologizing for using bad language seems kind of weak and pathetic and not manly. Fueding about how muscle men move their half-naked bodies while wrestling seems kind of .. oh nevermind.

First off, Devon, enough with the immature commentary about MMA. Not helpful to anything. As a former jiu jitsu competitor, I find that crap just as offensive as Rogan’s comments.

As for Rogan. I honestly have no clue what to think about him. The guy is one of the best commentators in the business. He trains hard and knows his MMA (TKD black belt and major player and a brown belt in jiu jitsu; this guy isn’t some wannabe too fat to even get on the mat). He’s also a hardcore druggie… pot, shrooms, LSD, and DMT. And a few years back, his website was full of stuff about aliens.

All this over the name of a frickin’ kick….*sigh*

So, does that imply that the term “cocksucker” is also used to define someone who is “weak and pathetic?” Doesn’t say much for the women that (presumably) suck Mr. Rogan’s cock. Hmm, and what does it say about the men who lick vag?

Am I the only person who doesn’t mind when stand up comics use offensive language? Joe Rogan is NOT homophobic. Period. This is exactly the same as when younger generations use the word gay with a negative connotation, they aren’t saying that a TV show(for example)likes to have sex with other television shows of the same gender–clearly. The English language is a living thing and it changes day to day. If you were to say “TTYL” to somebody in the 80’s they’d have no idea what you were talking about. Someday everybody will be using a different word instead of gay to put things down and people will probably still have a stick up their ass about it. Why not get ahead of the times and pull the stick out of yours?

@CDB: I can tell you AS a freaking teenager, that’s not the case. Faggot and gay still ARE meant to use to imply that not being a heterosexual (male) is wrong. You’re saying The Man Show isn’t a bunch of sexist drivel? Fine then. Go along with Matt and Trey’s “the english language changes all the time” bull. It only changes for some.

I mean, just look at his remarks. He changed faggot to cocksucker. Wow, that’s like, so not sexist or homophobic. You seem to not understand that using the word gay and fag is yes, an insult to the LGBT community, BECAUSE the words gay and fag are being used as a replacement for “bad” or “sucks” or “shit”. It implies that being gay or a fag or anything not heterosexual is bad and wrong. It’s that simple. How would you and most people feel if I said “Oh, this is so black” or better yet, “you’re such a nigger”. Or how about “this is so jewish” and “you’re such a kike”. Or also “this is so asian” and “you’re such a chink/gook/slant-eyes”. To say that using the word fag and gay in place of other negative words doesn’t promote homophobia is ignorant.

Fuck, just look at what he said “I’ve used it as a term for people who are weak and pathetic”. And he changed faggot to cocksucker. Whether he’s aware of it or not, this guy is a bonafide homophobe and sexist- except of the modern accepted type. You know, the ones that make up 3/4 of the straight male population.

This is pretty funny. A blog that calls gays and lesbians “queer”, freely uses words like “fag” and “faggot” and, like some throwback to the early 70s, regularly compares gay people to transvestites and transsexuals is complaining that Joe Rogan’s apology wasn’t sufficiently sincere. When can we expect “Queerty’s” apology?

@Vellis, queer is actually the preferred term these days. It’s more inclusionary than gay and lesbian, which still supports the gender binary and upholding these silly societal constructs. So before you go and yell about Queerty’s use of the word, it might be time to do a bit of research.

Joe Rogan is just representative of a demographic. The suburban, loudmouthed, jock, manchild douchebag. He’s doing what Dana White hired him to do, and that is to lower the discourse in MMA (at least as far as UFC is involved, which isn’t saying much) to the level of a video gaming 13 year olds’ understanding. That’s who the fights sell to, not to mention the swag, so that’s who they target.
In the meantime, Martial Artists who approach this “sport” (*cough*) as something worthwhile in our adult lives to forge a path towards personal development get lumped in with the rest of the high school wrestler, homophobe and unprincipled, yet strangely “Christian” crowd. My gym is full of them, and they 1)can’t fight. 2)draw from everything and give nothing, except to waste others time 3)argue, and act self aggrandizing the way their entitled SUV driving mothers taught them, and NEVER will “man up” and back their word in any way, so don’t expect it. They don’t have a dad, just a lump of Republican resentment hiding behind a USA Today.
Basically Dana is creating a nation of douches when he could have done so much more. It’s affecting the rules in the cage (favors “lay-n-pray” wrestler scrotes) and the martial arts as their being practiced, packaged, and taught here in the US, and I’m not sold that it’s for the better. The Zuffas are rich sure, but does it matter to you? Didn’t think so. Dana really fucked up when he didn’t hire Bas Rutten after he destroyed Pride. Instead we get Rogan (king of the “counter culture, maaaaaan”, and Goldberg). But, at least the chodes in Middle America don’t have to have a Dutch accent subtitled? Yeah, I guess.

      Rant:end.

Sick of the UFC, it’s losing cred by the minute, with Joe Rogan leading the way.

@Silas: Perhaps you’ll do some research as well: I know many homosexual woman who complain that they want to be included in the word “gay,” as they were before other homosexual woman insisted on fighting the patriarchy by introducing the gender binary of “lesbian and gay.”

I’ve seen Joe Rogan’s stand-up act, and he comes off as a humble, transgressive, thinker who crosses boundaries of sin and hypocrisy more honestly than is socially acceptable. Because, he says he loves the word “faggot” I’m convinced he replaced it with “cocksucker” ironically [which is not the same as sarcastically].

BTW if substituting “queer” for “homosexual” successfully removed its derogatory connotations so well why don’t we just call each other “faggot” until we clean that word? And then we can all work on “girlfriend.” And maybe even get the Inuits to use “Eskimo,” [which means "cannibal" in neighboring languages.]

Political correctness is very tricky bullshit. It raises disgust rather than awareness, because it’s spouted by political fashionistas who’d rather wield the latest self-righteous bludgeon than think an argument through.

We can be adult enough to interpret a word by its context. Nevertheless, I wish that asshat Joe had thought of something less mindless. But then, I wish that losing the distinction between “less” and “few” was less jarring to my ear.

I take back my spiteful comment that I threw out earlier. I did a little research and as it turns out, Joe Rogan is really not a homophobe at all. He’s been on gay talk shows and has made it clear that he can’t stand the sight of watching someone hate on someone else because they’re different.
He just likes pushing the envelope and was trying to be ironic by replacing “faggot” with “cocksucker”.

It’s quite telling how some in here are defending him. Of course if he was a black man (any black man), there would be 2000 racist comments calling for the destruction of his career, and the condemnation of all black people, since they’re all homophobes.

Yes, I see that you are correct. Joe Rogan WAS on the Man Show, but with a different co-host. (guess I had checked out of even noticing the show’s commercials by then).

However, the issue was that the original text of this article did state that Joe Rogan was Adam Corolla’s co-host, which is what I was actually commenting on. Obviously that text has disappeared from the rewrite after Joe’s “apology”. Thanks tho…

And although, Joe may not be a homophobe, he (as well as many of my friends I keep reminding) really needs to understand how offensive the word f$ggot is to most of us.

      Thanks again Hans!
