Baltimore-bred filmmaker John Waters, on his belief that Marylanders will vote on the side of equality when a same-sex-marriage amendment comes before them in November—at a Equality Maryland fundraiser in New York City. Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley and The Good Wife actor Josh Charles were also speakers.

Maryland residents are the most affluent of any state and among top 3 most educated. Even with a strong religious megachurch block in Prince George, marriage equality will be upheld. Maryland will be the first!

@KirkR: Well let’s hope it ties with Maine for first place, as Washington finishes second/third (due to time zone differences).

@KirkR: Maine and Washington maybe. But Maryland, no way let’s hope i’m wrong but i do not believe Maryland with nearly 30% african-americans will pass gay marrige. They will knock it down big time that’s my prediction.
