I love Johnny Weir!
I dunno, I have some weird feelings about this whole Sochi Olympics.
This guy is such a tool.
Every bad stereotype.
Fuck you Johnny.
@Katbox: To be fair to Weir he did say he’s going to tone it down as in not showing any overt signs of gayness.
I have to give him credit. He says he is willing to be arrested. I would not want to be in a Russian jail for any amount of time. I am sure it is not like being locked up here in the states. Our jails are not a day at the spa. 15 days in a Russian jail must be horribly scary.
@Katbox …wow really? So you are mad at him for being too gay? lol
Just to let you know katbox..the world doesn’t give a sh*t how gay one is..if you would rather be with someone of the same sex, we are all considered vile and disgusting to them. No matter what form we take. lol
Johnny Weir has expressed his willingness to stand up and be counted against Russia’s idiotic and outdated homophobic bs, and risk arrest. That’s quite commendable to me. Rock on, buddy!
Sounds like Katbox needs to get back to her litterbox, make more smelly in there, stop stinking up the Comments section. Jeebus.
His chance of qualifying are not very good.
@Katbox: you took the words right outta my mouth. I can’t stand him hes annoying and gross
Bravo to Johnny! Johnny is very popular in Russia so he has the opportunity to make a very powerful statement now.
@B Damion: Can’t call myself ‘gay’ cause of people like him.
I don’t mind flamboyant men but this guy is horrendous.
Guess it’s homosexual all the way.
Johnny pushes it a bit too far at times, but I love the guy. He is fierce. For those that don’t like him, you should at least acknowledge that he is speaking up. You are the same guys who would be berating him for being silent. In other words, you are the same guys who always have something negative to say about other gay men. Sad really.
Took him a while to come out, but he has a large fanbase in Russia and is willing to tweak their nose so good for him.
As for the IOC….interesting that they think that being honest about who you are is pushing a politicial agenda. Frankly if that is their attitude I say boycott all Olympics until they get some folks in there who actually support basic human rights.
If the Olympics were in Saudi Arabia would the IOC say that women who don’t want to compete wearing a bhurka were pushing a political agenda and would be disqualified?
The IOC has a LONG LONG LONG history of accepting bribes, it would be interesting to check the bank accounts of the board and see just how many had received recent checks from Russian accounts.
The feminine men like Johnny deserve credit because they have the courage of lions!
The real question is, would he be willing to be arrested if there as absolutely NO press coverage?
Brave young man. One thing’s for sure: he won’t be in the same cell (or Siberian camp) with Mr. Snowden.
