Some friends went last night and said it was one of the best movies they have ever seen, and that Heath Ledger absolutely deserves an Oscar for his performance. I'm hoping to go Sunday, can't wait.
I was at AMC Lennox 24 in Columbus, Oh at midnite last night–Sold Out on 23 screens–the 24th screen had a midnite show of "Mamma Mia" which also sold out. Every seat in the 24 screen multiplex SOLD OUT for simultaneous 12:00 Midnite start times–it was crazy!
I avoided "Dark Night" (which I'll see today) and opted for "Mamma Mia" along with other gays and teenage girls.
um, the queers I know are flocking to Dark Knight! For some reason I actually want to see a batman movie more than one with Colin Firth. I'm sure I'll regain my senses.
Saw the 3:30 am show at the fabulous Cinerama in Seattle. It lives up to the hype. Ledger is frightening and disturbing in an astonishing performance. If he wasn't so extraordinary, everyone would be talking about Aaron Eckhart who does an equally great job as the tragic District Attorney Harvey Dent.
But for me, the single powerful moment of the movie was when Maggie Gyllenhaal. She has a scene where she conveys terror, love, betrayal, understanding and (possibly) acceptance — all in about 10 seconds. It was heartbreaking to watch.
A brilliantly executed movie that is dark, but ultimately leaves you with a sense of hope. Go see it!
just got back from the movie, omg one of the best movies ive seen in a REALLY long time.
i was a little bit hesitant to think it was going to be great because i thought they mightve just been saying it was great since heath ledger died, but omg all the praise is so well deserved! heath ledger was perfect
oh…my…god. spectacular. ALL the acting was fantastic. It wasn't just an awesome movie though, it was a well made movie. The script, the score, the acting; well done people!
p.s. - I'm just going to say the obvious here, Christian Bale is hot. there I said it.
My friend works at the theatre so I am going today.
I have tickets to go see it at the early Sunday matinee. Can't wait!
are you kidding?! I am so there.
lol the whole country is going this weekend
