THE SHOT — "Judgment Day," a piece from digital artist Troy Dunham and photographer Jeff Eason, created for the 2009 GLAAD Art Auction, up for grabs next Sunday. It's a "a modern day re-interpretation of the classic Paul Rubens painting 'The Last Judgement,'" Dunham tells us. By "modern day," he obviously means "without women."

It appears there will be no blonde men, fat men, old men, black men or skinny twinks at the judgment. Maybe this is just the Judgement After-Party and everyone's body hair got burned off in the Lake of Fire.
I see some black men, but no Asian men. Overall a bland existence (or post-existence?)

Really kitschy.. it looks like an apocalyptic version of an A&F add, specially because there is no variety in man shapes… only very depilated gym specimens. not trying to undermind the effort of the artist but the result is very tacky and has no artistic propposal or originality at all. If it was just the centerfold of a soft porn mag… well ok, but if you look for queer art this is not the place.
You might want too take a look at John Singer Sargent, Attila Richard Luckacs, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Yasumasa Morimura, well you get the point… I'ts a little disapointing to keep finding that this kind of images still gets a lot of attention… when its only good for j***** off.
Well, SteveDenver, I found this particular image via a BLACK MAN's Twitter webpage (@BubblePOPPA or Corey Corey) who appears to be the ONLY man of real color seen pictured here, which yeah is a darn shame. Still, I wouldn't go so far as to insult the models selected nor the photographer & artist-team that created this depiction of Judgment Day.
Oh, and, yeah, there's a lacking of rugged, masculinity found amongst these hairless, spray-tanned male models, with the exception of the dark, token Mandingo stud.
I hear the other queens loud and clear, though, when they start bitching about ALL the men pictured being Adonises instead of mixing in some overweight, unattractive, physically-distorted, meth-mutants with bad hair who can represent the average-looking Joes out there. If I had MY way, the aforementioned would be the very ones cast to fill up Hell and the rest of these hard-working, hardbodies would go straight to Heaven! Praise Him!!
A very visually stunning and arresting piece! You don't really
know where to look first, but once you see the sexy man of color,
you wonder why he appears to be the ONLY one (though featured
twice). Still, he is representing for the rest of us QUITE
well. It was somewhat humorous to read the naysayers complain
about the absence of older, heavier, etc., men, in the piece.
Knowing full well if some older guy who looks as if he's never
seen the inside of a gym, were to approach one of those trivial
queens, they'd jeer and sneer at the poor guy. It is a beautiful
image, its just a shame that certain gays think that being
unneccesarily critical denotes intelligence. Here's a clue:
