After a nine-year relationship, Canadian crooner k.d. lang is dissolving her domestic partnership with girlfriend Jamie Price. According to TMZ, they’ve been separated since August 2011.
Lang is a devout Buddhist, so hopefully she’s keeping Zen about the whole thing.

@Cam: My thing is this: when one deliberately chooses to take a career path that will thrust them into the public eye, they have to take the good AND>/b> the bad with it. They just do. That includes bloggers and tabloids and fans and all the rest speculating about their lives. Common knowledge closets are not good enough. Though I am not sure what the big deal is. You choose the public career, you take all of it.
Can’t have it both ways. Though, I gotta wonder what happened with k.d. and jaime. Pretty sure there will be more speculation. 9 years is a long time to just throw in the towel.

The only curious thing to me is the timing – kd was on tour for a lot of the last year, so it may be that life with k.d. constantly on the road was too much for Jamie. Either that or kd found a new piece to nibble on.
I love kd so it’s all good. At least she hasn’t shown herself to be the lesbian Jerry Lee Lewis like Melissa “Love ’em, Knock ’em up and Leave ‘Em” Ethridge has.
