Fans of caustic medical personnel with substance-abuse issues rejoice! Nurse Jackie is back for Season 4 on April 8 and, as the show’s tagline says, karma’s a bitch.
At the end of Season 3, Jackie was sweating the hospital’s mandatory urine test and dodging calls from her husband, perky Zoey was contemplating another man besides her boyfriend, and Coop’s wedding was fizzling out—despite a lovely rendition of “Ave Maria” by Thor.
So, is it time for payback? Here’s the prognosis for Season 4:
*Though trying to go clean, Jackie (Edie Falco) has a slip-up and does meth—and other things—with a sketchy addict (Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong). Will she let herself go or get into treatment?
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
*Meanwhile, Jackie’s husband Kevin (Dominic Fumusa) and sometime-lover/pharmacist Eddie (Paul Schulze) come to blows in front of her children. Will the kids flip out—or even notice?
*All Saints welcomes a new employee: Dr. Michael Cruz (gay fave Bobby Cannavale of Will & Grace), a handsome but abrasive administrator tasked with getting the failing hospital out of the red. Will Dr. Cruz be Dr. Love—or Dr. Death—for Jackie?
* Cuddly bear Thor (out actor Stephen Wallem) is back to crack wise, keep the staff in line and banter with guest star Joel Grey. Will Thor finally find a love interest?
Nurse Jackie returns on Sunday, April 8, at 9pm EST/PST on Showtime.
