Maybe it’s not worth getting so upset about Katy Perry, a scripted micro-managed fraud of a personality, singing a gay taunt song for an audience at her old high school. Because even she acknowledges you don’t have to take her seriously.
“I mean, come on. I’ve got a whipped cream bra!,” she tells CBS Sunday Morning‘s Anthony Mason, who tags along with the pop singer as she shows off what it means to be famous. “It’s not like I’m Carole King here. Although, I admire Carole King, I don’t want to be the indie darling, because the indie darling means nobody’s heard of you before.”
And now that everybody has heard of you? You use your fame irresponsibly.
To summarize, “I don’t want to be smart. Smart people are stupid.”

Damn dude did she write a bitchy song about you or something? What did this really have to do with anything? use your energy a little more productively. I’d rather this be a blog about things important in the gay community. This is just a pissed off version of Enterainment Tonight

Who is Katy Perry?
And why is such a dumb bimbo of interest to The Gays?

Oops, I didn’t realize it was mandatory that every pop singer be devoted solely to promoting equality. On the other hand, I have to agree with Michael C. – if the gays would stop talking about her instead of constantly publicizing her, we could forget her that much sooner.
I bought her first CD, and I’ll never buy another. It’s like the woman has two catchy singles in her per album, and the rest are not worth hearing. She doesn’t have a good voice (listen to her sing a ballad, but purchase cotton balls first to clean up after the ear bleeds), but she does write some catchy songs. Unfortunately, she really does have a mediocre average – one out of every five songs she releases are good, and that’s listening only to the ones she records for release. Even Gwen Stefani has a better average than that, and she’s got a voice I actually like to listen to.

@Michael C.: Honestly, I had never heard of her before watching parody videos here.

I hate this bitch with a passion.
I think Queerty is trying to right some wrongs and prevent the gays from adopting her and turning her into a pop idol.
When there are so many actual gay icons and progressive individuals with great music, there is absolutely no need to back this talentless two-faced hack.

I knew this girl was a bigoted fundie when she BLASTED Lady Gaga’s “Alejandro” video. Literally tore Gaga apart and said in a public statement how it offended religion on various contexts. THAT’S when I put 2 and 2 together and realized this girls a religious zealot in a disco costume trying to profit off of gays, but when you really examine her and her music she is about as far gay friendly as one can get. My whole thing is, be you. Don’t be decieving with your brand. The amazing thing is her new video with Elmo isn’t exactly very appropriate either. I’d LOVE Gaga to make a comment and say “as a tickle me Elmo fan, I felt Perry’s video offended Elmo fans on various contexts”

Come onnnnn. The gay “community” LOVED her when she was making mindless, ridiculous dance music for them.. Get over it. This is America, and every stupid biotch like Ms. Perry IS entiteled to have an opinon, even if, GOD FORBID, it goes against anything YOU like. You’re starting to act like the uptight, holier-than-thou aye holes you’re seeking “freedom” from… Get a thicker skin so worthless asses like this one won’t bother you.

“The indie darling means nobody’s heard of you before.”
What a vapid little clown.
