That Sally Kern sure is a stubborn one! The anti-gay lawmaker still refuses to apologize for comparing the gays to terrorist monsters from hell. Said Kern yesterday:
I see no reason to apologize for what God says, that homosexuality is a sin. I will not apologize. I did not say anything false. I did not say anything malicious or hateful. They are trying to vilify me. That is their tactics [sic].
When asked what she thought of a gay protest in her honor, Kern lauded the activist’s commitment to the first amendment, but still refused to engage: “…They really want me to come down and talk to them? It would be like throwing myself to the lions. That’s a metaphor.” Thanks for the clarification, Sally, we never can tell with you.
Meanwhile, you’ll notice we’re using a new image for Mrs. Kern. That dead-eyed head shot really got to us, so we’ve settled on Medusa. Far less frightening, right?!

If Ms. Kern is going to promote what God says in her agenda, perhaps she should start going after shellfish eaters and menustrating women also. But I suppose it is extremely convenient to forgot about what the Bible says about those two groups. The “Christian” people in this country need to learn that they are being “USED” by the “Conservatives”. The “conservatives” learned, a generation ago, that they can push certain hot buttons to get uninformed and unthinking people to vote for them. One of the hot buttons is “abortion”. The second is “gay”. They poke those two hot buttons, get elected to power, then use the power to enrich themselves and their friends.
The formula used to be: Talk about the evils of abortion; promise to oppose abortion; collect the votes and get elected; use the power to get richer; do nothing about abortion. But most people wised up to that one. Most people now understand that we cannot really prevent all abortions. The only real choice is whether or not abortions will be safe for the mother. So that hot button is wearing out.
The new formula is to talk about the evil homosexuals, and about how they are preying on your children; collect the votes and get elected; use the power to get even richer; then do nothing about homosexuality. People are beginning to figure that one out, too. Most people know one or more gay people, either friends or family. Most people now know that gay people are not inherently evil. So that one isn’t working very well, either.
True Christian values start with, “Love your neighbor.” In fact, some famous Rabbi went so far as to say, “Love your neighbor. All the rest is commentary.” Loving your neighbor means, mainly, not hating your neighbor. So the “Christian” leaders who preach that Christians should “hate” any particular class of people are really not Christian at all. They are just USING their Christian followers to gain power and wealth.
True Christians want to feed the hungry. So-called “Conservatives” want to cut the feeding programs and close the soup kitchens.
True Christians want to house the homeless. So-called “Conservatives” want to cut the housing programs and close the homeless shelters.
True Christians want to care for the sick and the elderly. So-called “Conservatives” oppose caring for the sick, by opposing single-payer heath care. And, they oppose caring for the elderly when they try to cut social security and medicare.
True Christians want to love their neighbors, and help them in various ways. So-called “Conservatives” use hatred against certain minorities to gain power.
There is true power in this. Call them on their lies. Ask them to love their neighbors. Ask them about the homeless, the hungry, the sick, and the elderly. Ask them to let gay people marry. When they answer, call them on their lies.
Sally Kern is just using her “Christian” followers to gain power and wealth. When they realize that, she will be out of office.
