Kick Soccer’s Homophobia

Arts and jocks can mix in a new international competition. Vienna-based activist organization QWIEN launched a poster contest to highlight homophobia in professional soccer: “[QWIEN will] select the 50 best posters to put on display in the city during the tournament being co-hosted by Austria and Switzerland.” [Reuters]

It doesn’t seem that there would be any more homophobia in Soccar than any other sport. The main thing that this points to is the greater activism with europeans than Americans. Here about the depth of issues goes with marriage. As if we only existed on one dimension.
