“Killing them might not be helpful”

SOUNDBITES — “There have been a lot of discussions in government … regarding the proposed law, but we now think a life sentence could be better because it gives room for offenders to be rehabilitated. Killing them might not be helpful.” —Uganda’s Ethics Minister James Nsaba Buturo, indicating the government will remove the death penalty from the punishments for “serial offenders” under its Anti-Homosexuality Bill (via Reuters)

Gee, Denmark and other countries threatening to pull Aid had an effect. Pathetic children with their hands out. Learn how to run a country correctly and you wouldn’t have to try to scapegoat minority groups to defelct attention away from your failing govt.

A life sentence there IS a death sentence. Any law against gay people is unacceptable. If this law passes in any form, we need to be screaming bloody murder about our tax dollars being sent to any of these countries in the form of aid. Aiding them in doing this? NEVER !

It is time to unleash the proud and willing nuclear arsenal of the United States upon Uganda; our 64 year hiatus since Hiroshima has become just too long to bear. Nuke those mother fuckers and the other half of Africa that behaves just like them.

Get a grip on yourself, Hell. The people that have a death grip on these countries are very low level mentalities. People with brains either leave those countries or are suppressed. These guys think they’re all macho and strong. Let’s see how strong they are when the money gets cut off, and they’re denied visas to vacation in Paris and Las Vegas.

Religion is the cancer of society. Thankfully here in the US we have begun to treat it. But, the World needs to be cured of this disease-of-the-ignorant.

@ no. 8 & 9 SAL (the original?) –

You pegged it, kiddo.

And aren’t you just giddy to live in a country where there is no corruption or woefully (and almost criminally) uninformed constituencies who keep putting the same self-serving bastards who pillage the planet back in power.

Kudo’s to you my friend — and God Bless America. ~~

When was the last time that a Wiccan spokesperson (if there are any) asked for gays or anyone else to be persecuted? Now, you may think their beliefs are weird or silly, but words like “cancer” are a gross exaggeration.

It’s not that hard to target the religious sects causing the problems, but if you go around dumping on the others as well, you just make enemies unnecessarily.

All of a sudden these subhuman homophobic savages with the
intelligence of a rock have realized that this little law
just may cause some countries to stop supporting this cesspool
of a “nation”. Of course they are changing their tune……

Yeah Terriwill,

Those subhuman savages like the ones here that give you marriage in May and take it back in November of the same year.

Those subhuman savages that smile and say they support gay rights but somehow every time gay marriage comes under popular vote it loses.. every single time.

Those subhuman savages that honestly do not like you but do not have the guts to tell you that they dont. They assist you to make stupid polls that tell you half the nation supports gay rights especially marriage. I swear if up to 40% of Americans support gay marriage i will crap out gold.

Yes those Ugandas are brutal but they are honest about their intolerance. You think if people did not have a chance in this country this wont be the norm….you poor sap

When you dislodge the back stabbing, dishonest log in your own eye(COUNTRY), you can attend to the speck in theirs
