In Maureen Callahan’s new book Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga — or what I like to call the world’s quickest biography for an insta-celebrity — the Post reporter includes some unseen shots of the gay-loving songstress. Including this snap of her as a high schooler sporting Abercrombie & Fitch, the official outfitter of 45-year-old gay men. [Poker Face: The Rise & Rise of Lady Gaga, via Racked]

Abercrombie? Oh yeah she must have been such an outcast in high school.
Hmmm
Wearing an abercombie jacket, as a teenager, is a non-story.

“Abercrombie & Fitch, the official outfitter of 45-year-old gay men.”
Which would explain why most of the kids I went to high school with wore A&F – because they were undercover 45-year-old gay men.
It also explains why a lot of the twenty-somethings I hang out with, including women, wear A&F. God, I have been surrounded by gay men all this time and didn’t even know!

Old pic 😛 that’s nothin’ new

What exactly is Lady Gaga? She seems more like a well calculated product than out of nowhere artist. I’m not hating on her, but I’m not buying her shtick.

Wow, she must be really pretty when she’s not all done up in meat and barbed wire.

Perfect! She’s the missing link between MTV’s Jersey Shore and MTV’s Logo Channel.

isn’t she always talking about being an outcast? she doesn’t look like an outcast in this pic. she looks happy, fashionably dressed for the time and even has a friend’s arm around her.

BWAHAHA! That picture reminds me of the days when people who wore A&F were the evil bastards who made fun of me. Then I came out and suddenly, people who wore A&F were the hot guys I was supposed to start dating.
Kind of explains why I gravitated immediately towards queercore.

You can probably google for it, because I’m paraphrasing, but I think it was Suzanne Vega who pointed out that the truly shy and sensitive wallflowers of the world simply aren’t the people who get up and put themselves out there through all the trails and tribulations and subject themselves to a life in public and on the stage or in the music business.
It just. doesn’t. happen.
If this is a stunning revelation to you, then yes, I guess it makes some kind of sense to fire up your web browser to go “Nyeah, nyeah, Gaga is really was outgoing, pretty and popular!”

Oh shock and horror she didn’t wear Alexander McQueen when she was in high school! Clearly she is, like, totally hypocritical and shallow and talentless and a terrible human being.
For those of you who consider Madonna the pinnacle of human achievement and the last word in iconoclastic sexual self expression, this is Madge herownself in high school: http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2009/quiz/madonna/madonna-02-a.jpg
Perhaps who someone is when they’re in high school isn’t necessarily who they become professionally later on?

It does not seem like she was posing and hanging out with the so typical all-American-cheerleaders-size 0-bitchy-looking kind of crowd. May be she was wearing that label to fit in with the in crowd who by judging for the picture are not around her. She does not seem like a size 0 in that pic either and her weight still is a big issue for her.
