Some of Lady Gagaâs 22 million followers are angry with her for making light of eating disorders after she tweeted about eating healthy instead of pigging out with the hashtag #PopSingersDontEat.
Mother Monster has talked about having bulimia in high school before, so perhaps she thinks she has the cred to joke about anorexia.
After all, Twitter hashtags can give the writer liscense to be offensive without really meaning it.
But a lot of young girls and gay men suffer from eating disorders, folks who read thinspiration blogs and might tweet tips on how to be as impossibly skinny at #PopSingersDontEat.

Creating a story when there isn’t one. Nice. And she clearly does eat, she said she was eating a salad, that’s hardly saying “I’m not eating today since I want to be thin”. Also, where are these “some” followers who are angry? Links? Your Gaga bashing is pathetic. Anyone on a fitness program would skip the cheeseburger for a salad. And for gay men, no salad just a protein shake.

I am not a fan of hers nor would I follow her, but this isn’t offensive in the slightest. How do you think she gets a body like that? The hashtag was an obvious joke because she said she’s ‘eating a salad’. Her fans are a bit too politically correct and from what I’ve seen of some of them, could use a salad every once in a while.

while i don’t find Gaga’s comment offensive, it is certainly hypocritical. when you are a person of influence who claims to adhere to the philosophy that it’s what’s on the inside that’s important, that young women shouldn’t worry about meeting an impossible standard, that eating disorders are bad and you know because you yourself overcame one…and then you turn around and say “i’d love to eat a cheeseburger, but i can’t because then i won’t be pretty” you’ve pretty much shot yourself in the foot and brought your credibility into question.

Do you know how many times I kill it at the gym and end up eating a salad or a wrap for dinner when all I want is a cheesesteak? Or at this very moment I’m eating soup instead of ordering Chinese?

The point is IS that she stated she was bulemic………and now she is promoting anorexia…..the typical anorexic works out excessively then eats a very small portion of food or something like a salad. So to be “for empowering girls” and write something like this shows she is either lying or ignorant. Eh, the reason she’s “not eating” is not because she wants to lose weight, rather because she’s about to embark on a massive world tour. All of that dancing and singing takes a lot of stamina and eating healthy is a good way to make sure you’re able to keep up. She could have definitely choose a better hashtag, but the whole “popstars don’t eat” stereotype is something she’s been satirizing since the beginning of her career. She’s all about making fun of what people think a popstar should be.

@Titus: Actually, no, that’s how much she made herself. Her last tour grossed over $250,000,000 and once you factor in how much her music and merch made plus her endorsements, she took home $90,000,000 of that for herself.
As for the “goodbye Gaga” comment, you might want to check up on how her world tour is going. If you don’t want to, allow me to tell you: it’s selling out.
