Lady Gaga Wants to Get Married Even If the Gays Can’t

gagaelle

Well, that’s one way to read her Elle interview: “In eight to 10 years, I want to have babies for my Dad to hold, grandkids. And I want to have a husband who loves and supports me, just the way anyone else does. I would never leave my career for a man right now, and I would never follow a man around.”

Maybe she knows something about the future that we don’t?

Even those who support the gays get caught up in hetero-normative language sometimes. I don’t blame her for wanting to get married to a wonderful and supporting man, I do to. I just don’t want to wait another ten years.

Are you saying that she should wait to get married until we all can? That’s a sacrifice that I wouldn’t ask anyone to make. Especially when they are real fighters for our cause.

Come on,lets be realistic …. there is nothing wrong with her wanting to get married to someone she loves, I have no desire to stop or inhibit others from getting married just because I can’t …. I just want that right too. Perhaps you are looking a little too hard for criticism. She is an open advocate of our rights.

Didn’t she say that she was bisexual? Or was it yet another sleazy marketing ploy on the model of Madonna, Britney etc etc? Frankly, I’m sick of these female pop singers.

What we have is women who use the gay community to build a power base (ie money) and then become heteronormative exponents of traditional institutions.

Message to Lady GaGa: you’ve become Lady Gag Gag.

In my opinion the celebrities who say they won’t get married until everyone can get married don’t want to get married anyway and are just using that as a handy, socially constructive excuse for avoidng marriage. Gaga didn’t even make one of those pledges as far as I know and I don’t see any problem with her wanting to get married.

There are some people who aren’t going to be able to eat today for unjust reasons but I doubt any of us here are going to let that stop us ourselves from eating today.

So you are blaming a woman for being hetero-normative when she wants to marry a man? I guess I didn’t get the memo that changed the goals of LGBT rights to taking away straight marriage.

I’m simply saying that I’m sick of women who use their so-called bisexuality as a marketing ploy and then adopt hetero-normative behaviors once they’ve made all their money.

They’re exploiting dumb gay men who like their music, pandering to male heterosexual sleazeballs who like girl-girl action, and basically doing nothing for our community.

#6, #10 You’re correct imo. She’s not bi. If she were, that answer would not have rolled out of her forked tongue so effortlessly. I cite Cassidy Haley who is consistantly conflicted over that topic, for one. SRSLY, WHO could say that if there were any serious question about their sexual attraction. b.s. Hey Gaga thanks for increasing Adam Lambert’s ranking. He didn’t perform at a march like you but kicked your disingenuous ass at the AMA’s.

I never believed her because she started back pedaling immediately saying “oh I shouldn’t have said that I don’t want to appear…blah blah blah”. Translation “Crap, now I’ll have to prove it”.

She may not be bisexual or strongly identify as bi, but she is certainly queer. Questionably in her sexuality, certainly in her lifestyle. She is different, and a rare artist in todays commercial music industry. SHe has some allusions to her same sex love in her songs poker face, so happy I could die, dance in the dark, etc.

So queerty, why try to trivialize her as an ally? She had a moving performance at the HRC where Oboma was, and did a good speech at the gay rights march in Washington. And has said several times she owes her career to the gay community, whom accepted her when she came on the music scene several years ago in New York. Allies are important, even if they are not glbtq, because I know plenty of people who are glbtq who are NOT allies to the gay community.

I laugh bitterly at all those who thinks she’s an “artist”. Is this how far standards have slumped? Tsk, tsk, tsk. Love the magazine cover shot. She looks nothing like that; she’s actually kinda horseface, like someone who didn’t get a nose job for a confirmation present.

she’s stated more than once that she feels much more physical towards women, rather than emotional. Shes stated that she loves women, but has never been IN love, but she also said she may have never been in love with a man either.

so she see’s herself in the future committed to a man rather than a woman, so what?
      that means shes 100% hetero?

      i don’t think so.

She has a better voice than Madonna and the cracked out “pop princess” Britney, Christina still blows Gaga away (vocally). I like Gaga because I have NEVER heard/read her say anything negative about anyone. She is positive, creative and a freak. I like her.

I am truly taken aback by the ill-advised viciousness of this headline.

And then I notice the “You might also like” click-thrus below this comment box. All about La Gaga, and nearly all as angry in tone.

It leaves me wondering if the editors didn’t receive the complimentary concert tickets they expected.

For the sake of your journalistic credibility, kindly refrain from plucking random mean-queen thoughts out of yer ass and posting them as nonsensical, misleading headlines.

      Thanks, and come again!
