  THE LADY LIKES CHEERIOS

Lady Gaga’s “Marry The Night” Is Like Several Different Movies In One Music Video

Lady Gaga combines ridiculous fashions, exploding cars and neo-noir desolation with a little Girl Interrupted, Black Swan, Fame action for her new 13-minute music video, “Marry The Night.” When can we expect her first feature length film? After all, if she really is just a Madonna rip-off, a movie would seem a logical eventual step.

I’m tired of all the death, darkness and destruction in every freakin’ GaGa video since Poker Face. Can’t she make something that isn’t depressing to watch? Madonna knew how to make videos that could be jubilant and beautiful…even the darker songs like Frozen and Power of Goodbye.

@Jake: I’m afraid that’s because Madonna had talent & knew what people wanted from music videos.

I agree with Jake on this.

Watched the Grammy pre-show and I wondered why such a happy event would be clothed in all the darkness. I love Gaga and there’s no denying her talent but I want to shout, girl, lighten up a bit.

When I think of Lady Gaga, the last thing I think of is actual music because all I can think of is insane videos, hair, and outfits. Strip all the crap away and you have decent pop music, but I’d take Adele any day of the week.

I don’t understand all the hatred for this great woman. She has been an inspiring voice among the LGBT community, and has done so much already for us in her short amount of celebrity. I do nothing but congratulate her. Love to Mother Monster

@James: Blah, blah, blah… Loves the gays, blah blah blah. Doesn’t change the fact that’s she sucks.

Rihanna has supported and collaborated with known anti-gay musicians from the dancehall music scene. This includes Beenie Man, a Jamaican musicians whose lyrics urge the listener to burn and hang gays and lesbians. Here is a youtube clip showing Rihanna with Beenie Man at a concert:

@Jake: Nobody died in Born This Way, Edge of Glory, or You And I lol. But i know what you mean, her vids are always “too weird” now. I still miss her look from her 1st album. This song (Marry The Night) & vid is meh… My favorite single from her is probably Edge of Glory.

The part where she goes “I’m going to be a star…” and then cries for 2 minutes, it’s SO self indulgent and ego stoking, it’s like every time I start to ignore how conceited she is and start to get into the music she does something that makes it impossible to enjoy her work. It’s like she just doesn’t want you to like her.

I wanted her to do Highway Unicorn, that could be fun and not so dark woe-is-me all the darn time.

Also, someone edited the Edge of Glory video to have Marry the Night playing over it and it was the best Marry the Night vid you could ask for.
