Larry Craig Tap-Tap-Tapped Republican Colleagues For Legal Defense Funds

Congratulations Idaho! Your wide-stance Senator spent his last few months in office focused on raising money for his trial, leaving you all to figure out how to get out of the financial crisis yourself. Poor Larry was only able to raise a little under $10k, with a big chunk of it coming from sometimes-libertarian Bob Barrrrrrr. Unfortunately for Craig, his legal costs are over $20k this point. Boo-hoo.

Politico explains that:

“New finance reports show that, between September and December 2008, then-Sen. Craig’s legal defense fund raised more than $9,600 from more than 50 donors, including a $1,000 donation from Bob Barr, the former GOP congressman who ran on the Libertarian presidential ticket in 2008.

Before Sept. 15, the Idaho Republican raised another $4,645 to help cover the costs of his legal expenses stemming from his June 11, 2007, arrest during a sex sting at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.”

@Alex: Bob Barr wrote DOMA and has empowered the DEA, therefore he will never qualify as a libertarian.
