Larry King Hosts Mike Huckabee

Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee popped into Larry King Live last night. And, as happens, the queers came up in conversation.

With regard to Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, Huckabee said that he’ll let the military work that out. Meanwhile, the former Arkansas Governor again defended military officials and again defended his HIV/AIDS quarantine comments:

That was 1992 — 15 years ago. And I know some would say but we knew it then. But, you know, I talked to medical doctors back then and even who have said this to me now, we said we knew, but we weren’t absolutely, positively sure. And the information we were getting was from our government. And, frankly, a lot of people who weren’t trusting our government than anymore than are trusting it now.

We wonder why…

He didn’t know because he failed to ask. A major pandemic is going on around him and he is too much of a fucktard to ask questions so he can be an informed political figure.

I know that’s right, Jack. And what’s this, “We’ll let the military work that out” bullshit? You’re running to be the damn Commander-in-Chief of the military! You’ll be the one working it out, you asshat!

I think that it takes a strong person to admit when he/she is wrong. That is exactly what Huckabee did. What he says is true, 15 years back HIV/AIDS was being studied and many people were informed incorrectly. Studying a disease is a long process and more is learned with time. Huckabee admitted he followed false information, and he therefore withdrew that opinion. I believe that he later said that he would try to do more for individuals with HIV/AIDS with Medicade.

Also, it seems to me that it is important to have a president who realizes that those in other authorities should make decisions from their department. I would not want s president instructing a surgeon how to operate do his job. The same is true for the military; the high ranking military officials know what is better for the troops then a man sitting behind a desk in Washington.
