Larry King On Lawrence King, Gay Bullying

Curmudgeonly journalist Larry King shows his softer side as he discusses ending violence against the gay folk.

Above you’ll see King discussing another Larry, Lawrence King: the 15-year old gay boy who died after being shot by a classmate. Needless to say, the elder King does not approve: “Larry King and I share more in common than just our names. We both believe that all students should be free to be themselves without the fear of name calling, bullying or harassment.”

Lance Bass also recorded a PSA for Day of Silence, which keeps growing. Yesterday we said that 6,000 schools are participating, but now were hear there are more like 6,500.

Either way, there’s going to be a whole lot of silence tomorrow. And all of it helps stop bullying, so it sounds even more sweet!

Do you suppose Bill O’Reilly will come out strong in favor of the Day of Silence?

Larry has always quietly spoken out for gay people. And he always puts homophobes on the spot, letting them bury themselves in their hate-rhetoric.
