sorry, but i dont understand why any gay or lesbian would want their children in a catholic school. that religion teaches intolerence towards gay people,

its' not just the school who teaches against gays but the parents of other kids who teach their kids the religious views, its also those parents who do N.O.T. want thier kids to be exposed to the children of gays. maybe theyyre afraid that gay is contagious?

hope the kids will land in a school where they will be welcome and intolerence isn't part of the curricculum!!

These are two sane, good people who are behaving as courteously and rationally as they can, in total contrast to the mad priest who has intervened between them and he school.

The irony is that he claims to be acting in accordance with the teaching of Christ and the Church, but he is not. The catholic church also opposes premarital sex, contraception and divorce: does he also insist the church turn away children whose parents are divorced, unmarried, or using contraception?

Jesus Christ never said a word against same sex relationships specifically, nor anything about sex, beyond the importance of the relationships (in opposing adultery and divorce.) On the contrary, he did quite explicitly welcome into the kingdom of heaven all "eunuchs" (which is he closest Biblical term to our word "homosexual" ) and had not a word to say against the Roman centurion who asked him to heal his sick boyfriend.

Oh, you didn't know that this well-known passage was about a GAY centurion? Well, he was. See http://queeringthechurch.wordpress.com/2010/03/15/mar-15th-the-gay-centurion/

As I read this latest response from this couple, I really wanted to have have empathy for them and their situation, but I couldn't help thinking about people in an abusive relationship! The way they lived their lives accepting and just going along with all the injustices gay people continue to endure, yet being thankful they had the means to jump through all the hoops to try and have a "normal" life like all straight people who have those rights without question! Like I said, it made me think of the abuse e who can't understand why their denial of their situation and undying love for their abuser just isn't enough to stop their abuser from treating them like sh*t!

"[W]e value what a Catholic education can offer our children from an academic, religious, and moral standpoint."

They offered you and you kids a lesson in getting kicked in the ass. And wait, the lesson plan gets even better! Bigotry is morality, and discrimination is part of God's will. They need to really stay away from the evil secular schools, where they might teach them evil humanism; all men are created equal and the value of religious tolerance.
