Lesbian Waitress Receives Nasty Note About Her “Lifestyle” In Place Of Tip

A lesbian waitress at a restaurant in New Jersey claims she was denied a tip because of her sexual orientation.

Dayna Morales is a former U.S. Marine who now works as a server at the Gallop Asian Bistro in Bridgewater, New Jersey.

Yesterday, she served a family of four. Their bill came to a grand total of $93.55. After the family had left, Morales went to collect her tip. That’s when she noticed the tip line on the receipt had been scratched out. In its place was a note that read:

“sorry I cannot tip because I do not agree with your lifestyle & the way you live your life.”

Morales expressed her outrage over the incident in an email to the LGBT blog Have A Gay Day. The email, later posted to the blog’s Facebook page, read:

“NEVER in a million years did I think this would happen. Not only was it a family with two kids, but as I introduced myself and tell them my name is Dayna – the mom proceeds to look at me and say, ‘Oh I thought you were gonna say your name is Dan. You sure surprised us!'”

Since sharing her story less than a day ago, the post has already received over 1,100 shares and nearly 4,000 likes, with many people expressing support for Morales.

One person wrote: “As a member of the heterosexual community, I beg your forgiveness for these ignorant people.”

Another person said: “I am sorry you went through that Dayna. Thank you for protecting and serving all. Even the ones who do not deserve it.”

Sadly, this is not the first report of a member from the LGBT community being denied a tip at work. Just a few weeks ago, a similar thing happened to a gay waiter at Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Kansas.
