Washington state Republican Richard Curtis‘ disgraceful resignation should teach the closeted Grand Old Partiers some very valuable – and obvious – lessons. From TPM:
…If you offer to pay a guy $1000 to have sex with you, don’t try to wriggle out of paying the thousand dollars.
More advice: if you get into a payment dispute with the guy you paid to have sex with you, contacting the authorities to get them involved to hassle the guy is a very bad idea.
That goes for you too, Democrats. And, yes, even you third party politicos, but we imagine most of you are smart enough to avoid such sensational sex scandals.

OK, I realise that this represents satirical prose.
In four decades of ministry, I have met many “Richard Curtis’ and yes, a few Mary Jones'” in the bargain.
Some were liberals and others were conservatives politically and/or theologically. Most of them were heterosexually married, or were long-term discordant couples. ALL of them were frightened of discovery, and despite addiction pathologies, had some sense that their choices were cause or could potentially destroy they and their families.
Without engaging in psychobabble, my pastoral work involved making them face what they produced for individuals like themselves. The success rate was minimal, but the one over the ninety-nine was still meaningful.

He didn’t honestly think someone thought he was hot enough for someone to pay him a thousand bucks? I wouldn’t give you five cents for him. Shame Mr. Curtis destroyed his life on someone that weak looking.
