A group of 15 LGBT advocates were harassed, hit with eggs and eventually arrested today, after staging a kiss-in to protest a proposed ban on gay propaganda in Moscow.
“There were about four or five couples, male and female, kissing,” leading LGBT-rights activist Nikolai Alekseev told Gay Star News. “Then this radical Orthodox activist attacked them physically and with eggs. It was quite violent. It was really like the Middle Ages, I would say.”
The demonstration was held outside the State Duma, where a debate on the bill was scheduled for today. (It was ultimately postponed to next month.)
Just last week Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev stated neither he nor the country’s ruling United Russia party believe there’s any need for a countrywide ban on gay propaganda.

Not exactly surprising, the orthodox church was 100% behind the Pogroms and extermination of jews, muslims, intellectuals and homosexuals.
It doesn’t surprise me they are still carrying out genocide on their own people.
