LISTEN: Remixing “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Winner Jinkx Monsoon

Jinkx_600

Jinkx Monsoon, recently crowned queen of RuPaul’s Drag Race, gets the remix treatment thanks to Two Dudes in Love. Unlike Alyssa Edwards’ club-ready techno mix, this jam is more on the ambient vibe. The duo combines Monsoon’s freshly-recorded Little Edie-esque vocals with some chill, trans techno that’s perfect for tanning at the beach. Check it out below.

While we are at it: Which other queens should get the remix treatment? I wouldn’t mind Alaska’s “Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis” and Byyyyyyyyyeeeees” mixed into some clubby track.

      I was on the Alaska/Jinkx fence but totally pushed over into Alaska’s camp at the end. Especially on the reunion show, Jinkx seemed forced in everything she said and was totally starved for attention, where everything Alaska said and did was so natural.

      Here’s the Alaska Red B. Ames Remix. Just as amazing as the others! :)

      This isn’t a “remix” treatment but an original collab.

      From Two Dudes In Love’s promo:

      “The new Two Dudes in Love single “Schizophrenic” is a collaboration with RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon, and you can buy it now via iTunes. Jinkx delivers a spoken-word monologue in the character of Little Edie, whom Drag Race viewers will remember from the Snatch Game episode. But instead of campy humor, Jinkx’s performance in “Schizophrenic” highlights Edie’s fiery defence of her integrity, as well as her anguish at being misunderstood and ridiculed.”

      This expressive monologue is set to Two Dudes in Love’s most ambitious musical effort to date. “Schizophrenic” beings with mournful chords and a sombre bassline before morphing into a raging, acidic techno banger, dramatically emphasizing the range of emotions in Jinkx’s performance.

      @Homophile:

      Forced as in the entire Q&A was scripted for each queen or forced as in Alaska not being able to think of a single reason why she should be chosen when Jinkx had a complete and earnest answer?

      Starved for attention as in being Top 3 then winning? Or as in selling out every single show she has touched for the past few months including the Beechman where Willam/Detox/Vicky can’t even sell out 2 shows for next week and her 8 shows are sold out for July for a month now.

      Oh that kind of attention? It’s awesome.

      What’s not so awesome is all the Alaska And Sharon fans everywhere (and Sharon herself) feeling they have to diminish her skills and record of 8 consecutive HIGH scores with no LOWS just because Alaska didn’t win.

      Even calling the track a remix treatment? Shady. None of those lines even appeared anywhere before IF you were paying attention. sigh.

      @ScaryRussianHeather:

      Are you Jinkx’s agent? Get a room.

      Jinkx is still the high school drama nerd looking for acceptance from the “cool” kids.

      and PS. The question “why do you want to win” is an insincere pageant question that is looking for an insincere pageant answer.

      I liked Alaska and thought she was good on the last show. But, I think Jinkx is just more interesting and funny. Alaska is funny sometimes, but its almost by accident. Alaska came on strong too late. So, yes, team Jinks in the end. Although I would have been happy with either as the winner.

      @Homophile: Ohhh haha I understand baby, no one likes it when their fav loses. But there is no reason to be a douche about it.

      @BrianZ:

      Sorry! Not trying to be a douche.

      I was and am a Jinx fan, and was a huge supporter until right about the Telemundo episode. I recognize she’s crazy talented and honestly I was “ABBR” (anybody but Roxxxy), she just fell behind and Alaska pulled ahead the last third of the competition, in my opinion.

      I remember reading a comment on Logo “The world would be a better place with a lot more Jinx Monsoons”. I agree, Jinx was totally lovable and positive.
      Alaska slayed me with her humor especially in the final episodes. Loved her parroting Roxy’s “Seeing you in the bottom two” and the reunion “Let me just say that I think you’re both awful” shows she was a very funny comedienne as well. RuPaul had a tough choice and she could have gone either way.

      What I hate is the fact that Ru filmed three “reactions” to each being named the winner, so what you saw is Jinx just performing. The show didn’t reveal the real winner until Monday, and I saw the REAL reaction clip somewhere online.

      @Homophile: You were NEVER Jinkx’s fan to begin with. I’ve seen the Alaska fans really show their behind with this Jinkx win. Let’s get something VERY clear….Alaska would NEVER have been on this show had her little boyfriend from last season not won. Why? CUZ THE SCRAWNY LITTLE BOY TRIED EVERY SEASON and never ever made it on. He quit the first challenge, wore the same vile wig every other challenge, DRESSED AS A BOY in a huge challenge ..in a drag competition. Couldn’t answer why she should have won the competition and frankly, was just tired.

      Jinks was heart, soul, personality plus, entertaining, amusing and CAN SING, ACT, DANCE, HUMOR AND ENTERTAIN. No competition. Best winner hands down. Go home everyone (and take your bitter fans with you)

      IT’S MONSOON SEASON!

      @Homophile: Oh STFU…You sound like that fat heffer, Roxxxy, with her bitter fat behind. Jinkx was Top 3 in 8 challenges. NO other contestant in the history of the show was Top 3 in that many challenges. Jinkx was a star, and had a following not comparable to many other queens on the show. People lived for her because of her spark. She lit up the stage everytime she got on it. Alaska looks like a meth addict, and that red swimsuit she wore on the finale opening should have got her boney behind eliminated right on the spot. Riding the coattail of her boyfriend is the only reason she made the cast.

      And as for you, picking on Jinkx because she was a nerd? Bud, you’re only angry because the bullies were put in their place this season and the good guy came out on top? What’s the matter boo boo, does it force you to confront the fact that you were a bystandard or perpetrator toward anti gay bullying growing up and Jinkx reminds you of all the gay kids you picked on? Bullies always lose. Now go join your faves Roxy in eating a pie, or Alaska in doing meth. Bitter, party of 1.

      Good lord girls, relax lol. Alaska does not deserve to be torn down any more than Jinx does. IMO they both have mad talent and deserved to be the top two. Can’t we all just be ecstatic that Roxxy didn’t win? ;)
