Local Actors Step Into Clooney’s, Pitt’s Shoes For Regional Performances Of “8”

Have you seen 8, Dustin Lance Black‘s play about the Proposition 8 trial? It debuted a year ago on Broadway, then made the leap to L.A. in March for a star-studded version with Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Bomer, Chris Colfer, Kevin Bacon, and Matthew Morrison (and George Takei, whom we consider a heartthrob in his own right).

Now 8 is being performed in local theaters from coast to coast, with productions popping up in just about every state. Check out the video above, which compares Morgan Freeman’s delivery to a that of a guy in Nashville, TN, another in Ann Arbor, MI, and a third in Port Jefferson, NY (population 7,837).

They’re powerful words, no matter whose mouth they come out of.
