Denying an 11th hour appeal from the Justice Department, federal judge Virginia Phillips is letting the Log Cabin Republicans’ lawsuit against Don’t Ask Don’t Tell move ahead, with a June 2010 court date. LCR’s case rests on plaintiffs who claim they were dismissed under the policy. But if the trial isn’t set to begin until June, that means the White House has a full seven months to invent new ways to defend discrimination. Sounds like a New Year’s resolution to us!
This is an interesting tidbit from the article…

“JUSTICE DEPARTMENT ASSERTS THAT RECENT STATEMENTS BY PRESIDENT IN SUPPORT OF REPEALING ‘DADT’ POLICY HAS HAD ZERO IMPACT ON ACTUAL POSITION OF U.S. GOVERNMENT”
Sooooo, if we read that right, the Justice Department is basically saying that Obama is just talking out his ass for political reasons? They may want to clear statements like that through the White House before they go on record with them. lol
If they were really “Jews for Hitler” as the stale and vaguely anti-semitic insult claims, LCR would be supporting DADT.
Meanwhile the left-leaning gay organizations punt on repealing Prop H8.
Just more of the same. Is it 2012 yet?
