Is Logo’s newsy blog, 365gay.com, going to the big aggregator in the sky?
A source told us 365’s editor, Jennifer Vanasco, had told him the site would be shuttering on September 30. We reached out to Logo for confirmation.
“Logo is shifting its online strategy. Although successful in its mission, 365gay.com will no longer exist as a stand-alone site,” says a spokesperson from the network’s communications department. “However, some of [its] most-viewed elements— like “Ask The Expert”—will migrate and live on one of our soon-to-be-expanded Web properties. This shift reflects Logo’s overall plan to expand one of its other sites into an online hub… making it easier for readers to find and enjoy all of our original content.”
So is the site going down?
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
Short answer: yes.

365gay was bland site…and it took them days to post news items that had already appeared on Queerty and other sites.

not to mention that their “ask the experts” columns were the most vapid, insipid, useless things ever written.

Logo got out of the “news” business when it pulled the plug on CBS News on Logo. I still miss that show. 365 Gay was never a credible news source.

Yes, and what is it going to cost us to access it?

Years ago, before sassy gay blogs existed, 365Gay.com was my daily news source. I even got reprimanded at work for “accessing porn”, which I never did – turns out the ads on 365Gay.com back then set off the alarms..lol. Anyway, I quit & told my boss to go fuck himself and no one was going to tell me what I can and cannot read at work or anywhere else. I had such attitude when I was younger! Sorry to see 365Gay disappear.

I saw an interesting post form Jennifer Vanasco a few months ago. She left the impression she was the only full time employee at 365gay. Which would explain why it’s always about 3 days late on everything.
Still it’s a shame to see it go.
However, if it was the con artists at Here/Regent going down, I’d throw a party.

There have been shifts at AfterElton too, with a regular columnist leaving (the editor-in-chiefs partner!) and a push to cover more “non-gay” shows from a gay point of view. Some people in the know over there said MTV has set their hit numbers at an astronomical level that they are finding it hard to meet.

365Gay started going downhill when Logo took it over. I used to read it several times a day; recently it’s been maybe once a week, if that. Still sorry to see it go.

I find myself in a quandary.
Sad to see “365GAY” go away, but sort of relieved as well.
Its like watching a dear friend suffer a terminal illness.
You want everything to get better but know it won’t.
You don’t want them to suffer, but realize that their only escape from suffering is their passing away.
A tragedy all around.

@George412: CBS News on Logo WAS good. It made Logo a credible channel of all things gay. News, reality shows, original programming, etc. Now Logo is just reality shows and sometimes a movie will appear. It’s sad.
I suppose I should be thankful that a LGBT channel is available and present.

365 seemed to get boring after Logo took it over.

I can remember when 365gay actually made an effort to live up to the 365 part of its name. Like others, I’ve observed it going down hill since Logo took over.
Regarding AfterElton covering shows that don’t have a gay angle, some readers aren’t all that happy about it – especially when it seems to be done at the expense of shows that do have a gay angle but aren’t getting the coverage. Not a big fan of AE these days.
I will miss 365’s twitter feed. Made it easier to find out what other blogs were reporting without having to visit them individually.

Blah, blah, blah. Three days late, bland, etc… What you people miss is that this was gay news updated several times a day, 5 days a week by one woman who put her heart into this 365gay.com. A sort of community of people who might never meet offline was built around this site. “Ask the expert” is the only part that is going to live on, Ha. I am not impressed with that or with LOGO. LOGO got its greasy hands on 365gay.com, messed it up, and then shuttered it. I don’t care if I have LOGO on my TV or not after that. LOGO, give me back my 365gay.com and then get lost!
