“I still hate it, it’s really intimate. Even if it is Teri Hatcher, I hate it! It doesn’t matter who, it’s just such a personal invasion, so I find it really difficult.” —Eva Longoria on having to kiss Teri Hatcher for a Desperate Housewives scene, which Hatcher says was “fun.” But that’s not the end of the lesbian-ing goings-on:
Hatcher’s character Susan Mayer goes the lady-loving way. Says Longoria: “Not with me and Teri. There’s a lesbian storyline with Teri and another actor and she comes to the girls for advice and I just have to clear things up for her.”

One has to wonder if Ms. Longoria felt so strongly about the kisses she’s performed with her TV husband.

Actually, I did read an interview where Eva said she hated kissing Carlos because it was so intimate. She also said that Carlos hates kissing her, so they always try to get away with just hugging each other when the script calls for them to kiss.

What a pro!
Do you suppose she’s not getting paid enough for such difficult work?

I thought the episode of DH was pretty lame as far as its dependence on stereotypes. I never liked Three’s Company when I was little because even then it seemed to cater to ignorance. I guess I expected a tad more from DH/Marc Cherry.

stupid whore….go back to just breaking the writer’s strike with your pizza deliveries!!!

I think she looks a bit old too…

@BRK: Yeah, I think it’s more of a general kissing strangers issue than an anti-lesbian issue. Eva’s on our side politically. This isn’t something to get worked up about.

@atdleft:
I wasn’t aware she was supporter; thanks for the info. I don’t actually know much about her and I have never seen the show.
I just think it’s rather unprofessional for any actor to complain about simply doing his or her job, especially with the amount of money they are being paid.
Perhaps she’d prefer to change diapers, roof houses, or work on the killing floor of a slaughterhouse for a paycheque.
I’m not trying to make a big deal about it – but really neither should she. She could do a lot worse.

Longoria being put off by this kiss does not surprise me — once when asked what she liked best about being a woman her response was, “Our power over men.” so I somehow doubt that gay issues – or at least issues that tamper with gender roles – would be something she is too keen on involving herself with.

I’m not sure I’d be all that comfortable kissing someone I have no real connection with. I often wonder how actors are able to just go from movie to movie and get “intimate” with each other, it’s kind of weird.
