LOOK: Transgender Homecoming Queen Cassidy Lynn Campbell’s Visual Protest Against Hate

cassidyCassidy Lynn Campbell became an instant LGBT icon last week when the 16-year-old was named the nation’s first transgender homecoming queen. Now she continues her reign with a photo shoot to raise awareness for photographer Adam Bouska’s NOH8 campaign, which promotes equality through visual protest.

Following Campbell’s victory at Marina High School in Huntington Beach. Calif., she posted a tearful video in which she discussed the continued bullying she faced as a transgender teen and how hurt she was by criticism from hateful commenters. She quickly received an outpouring of support, including an invitation from Bouska to participate in his iconic photo campaign.
