Make Sure You Bring the Acid Trip to Adam Lambert’s ‘If I Had You’

Is it terrible that I automatically dismiss videos that features mobile phone screens flashing tweets or Facebook messages? Luckily that’s the only really mean thing I have to say about Adam Lambert’s new video for “If I Had You.”

He and some friends — actually, many of the extras are his friends — are at a carnival? In the forest? And his spiked shoulder pads are there to fend off mountain lions? MTV’s James Montgomery compares it to Men Without Hats’ “The Safety Dance” video

      Damn…better than I thought.
I was wondering what he’d be able to do with this song.
Hot shirtless guys prancing about the woods with horns and fur…
      Looks/sounds like fun to me.

I’m always up for hot shirtless guys dancing in the woods…just ask my friends. But this video was a little painful to watch. They jumped every half second and there was motion…I just found it difficult to concentrate on what the heck was going on.

That’s also not where I took the song the first time I heard it. But everyone’s interpretation is different I guess.

I believe the party in the woods is supposed to be Burning Man.

I like Adam! Interviews suggest he’s got substance. Additionally, he definitely isn’t another pop star with an “ehh… *just decent* voice/stage presence/persona/etc.”

The video is beautifully done, and that costuming is fierce. However, I’d definitely do away with the tweeting on the phone. I get it, but it doesn’t seem to fit.

Great song. If only he didn’t look so much like Rex Reed…

Good lord, it’s like a who’s who of the Zodiac Show/LA art scene in that video. Cassidy Haley, Cheeks, Alisan Porter, Scarlet Cherry, Allison Iraheta, Roxy Cotin, Sutan, Leo Moctezuma, Rahab/Puja, Allan Louis (Mza Superstar)

And that was just who I caught on the first watch

Just shut up and stop embarrassing yourself and the rest of his fanbase with your OTT and deluded comments. Fans like you make themselves look crazy which will never help him (shall we say Claymates?).
