Robert L. Johnson, 40, confessed to killing an unidentified 80-year-old friend, who Johnson says had been pestering him for nearly a year to engage in a sexual relationship, with his father’s 9mm gun. But the admission only came after Johnson stuffed the body in the trunk on Thursday, went off for a day of casino gambling with his mother, and then turned himself into police on Saturday because of an unrelated failure-to-appear warrant.
The 40-year-old Johnson, who is gay and faces first-degree murder charges, confessed to killing his friend, reports the Denver Post,
Johnson told investigators that he had called the 80-year-old man and told him his truck wouldn’t start. The victim came in his vehicle to help, opened the trunk to get a tow rope and Johnson, who was standing directly behind him, shot the man in the back of the head, the court document said. The victim fell half way into the trunk and Johnson shoved the body in the rest of the way, closed the trunk and wiped up some blood.
Johnson told investigators that he is gay, the document said, and the friend had been bothering him for sexual contact since December of 2009. He told investigators that he received numerous phone calls and text messages from the victim around 8 a.m. the day of the shooting. He said the calls and messages were sexual in nature. Johnson told investigators he used a 9 mm gun that belonged to his father in the shooting.
After the shooting, Johnson drove to the victim’s home in Byers and fed the man’s cat. Johnson, according to the affidavit, “opened several cabinet and dresser drawers to make it look like a robbery took place,” but decided that it was a “dumb thing to do and closed everything back up.”
Before turning himself in, Johnson went to his friend’s house once more to feed the cat, then hopped in the car and drove to the jail. His friend’s body remained in the trunk — which set off a separate bomb scare at the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.

type would he had suffered the same fate? Johnson probably would have had sex with him multible times by now with no complaints.
We as gay MEN may not want to believe we played a small hand in this. But with too many gay MEN being overly superficial. Associtating youth with beauty and placing too much of a value on someones body being muscled-out. Helping men to feel devalued past the age of 35 can warp someones thinking.
