Margaret Cho Has Some Job Advice For You: Quit Your Job

Success in any field requires a measure of understanding that things change, things grow and things die. And that you have to let them go. And that the ideas that you have about your career may not necessarily be the ones that are the best for you or the ones that are supposed to happen or the ones that are truly what you want.

- Bisexual comedienne Margaret Cho discussing how the cancellation of her one season sitcom All-American Girl lead her to her true calling, stand-up comedy.

Somehow I think that her real advice would be, “Jobs end, you don’t” rather that the total misrepresentation utilized as a title.
Maybe titles should receive a little OVERSIGHT?

Margaret had been doing stand-up for years before “All-American Girl” came and went. So it’s inaccurate to state that the show’s cancellation “led” to her comedy career.

Wow… I’m starting to see why that one weirdo comment stalker has it out for Daniel.
Least accurate post I’ve ever seen on queerty…

@Jimmy Fury, I don’t know if I’m the weirdo comment stalker in question, but Margaret was doing televised stand-up shows as early as 1988, so… yeah… not accurate.

@Adam Sank: No no not you, there was someone going around commenting on all of Daniel’s articles just to insult him and call him incompetent.
And I know all about Margaret’s standup history. I was agreeing with you lol

It does seem that the aforementioned “Weirdo Stalker” might have a valid point.
An eye catching title is one thing, a total misrepresentation of the actual story and then actual commentary from the story writer which screams loudly about a dangerous level of ignorance — not Queerty’s finest hour.

I saw that picture and immediately thought of her joke about how some guy yelled at her while walking her dog, “that dog’s gonna end up in a bowl of rice!”

It seems Queerty is doing what Huffington Post does daily: Come up with a ‘grabber’ headline that has nothing to do with the story. I guess Queerty works on a sponsorship by clicks basis too?

@Jimmy Fury: Was the comment stalker ever inaccurate in his criticism of a post? Maybe it shouldn’t be considered stalking if it was valid input and he was just trying to get the author to improve his skills.

And drop the falsies. She doesn’t want to accentuate her eyes at all, does she?
