Marge Simpson’s Sapphic Smooch

margekiss

When Desperate Housewives does it, it’s forgettable. But when The Simpsons has a leading lady character smooch another gal, it’s trendsetting. Alas, like most of our gay fantasies, this was only a dream — brought on by Homer’s drinking and/or libido. [PITNB]

There was also a trans moment in last night’s episode – near the start of the show, there was a banner hanging on the front of the school that said “Mrs. xxx is now Mr. yyy”

Matt Groening has really pushed the envelop on the “taboo” topics and for Fox, it is a milestone.

@Sebbe: @Sebbe:

They were signed on to a 23rd season. Longest running in any history.

@Steven – OMG i’m not that much older than them. I guess only soap operas have been on teevee longer. I never got into it. But, I guess it plays a role. Good for them for being successful that long. Are their ratings as good as ever?

As long as people continue to watch it and it remains profitable, the Simpsons is likely to continue to run, no matter how funny or unfunny it is.
I still like watching it even if I don’t find the episode I am watching funny for some reason. I guess people just like familiarity.

The Simpsons did have a dry spell there for a bit back in the 90s but they are making a comeback. Although the movie really didn’t help. lol

I think Patti is the dyke. One of them came out. It was a big deal, a “Who killed J.R.” parody of TV-induced suspense as to which character would come out; similar to which character would die (Ned Flanders’ wife). Brilliant as with everything in “The Simpsons.”

^^^ That and South Park are the ONLY shows I watch. What should I watch? The Bachelor? Desparate Housewives? Lost? Not thanks.
