Singer Mariah Carey shouldn't be allowed to speak - period:
Before a big show I’m not allowed to speak for two days. It’s boring writing notes. I need Stephen Hawking’s voice machine so I think and it comes out in a robot voice.
Because God forbid Carey go two days without offering the world her wisdom.

She is such a cunt!!
I hate her undulating, whaling type of singing. The worst. I am, however, impressed that she knows who Steven Hawking is. I never would have thought.
Oh goddess, leave the woman alone. She can't talk for two days in order to make sure her voice is in perfect condition because she does herself no favors in her songs… where she does vocal work-outs and a half.
However, if she just kept her voice in tip-top condition by running scales and other methods, she wouldn't have to go through that.
Thank you SeaFlood! That's exactly why she does it. Not because she is an egomaniac or whatever reason others thought she did.

This is the funny thing about the "MEDIA" the first part of that line is true "she goes on VOCAL rest before she sings LIVE, but the second part of that quote is a lie- someone made it up! typical
Everyone's voice is different. Many people do this practice. She doesn't have a particularly powerful voice, and running "scales" (this is a highschool term for Diatonic repeats) may benefit some who require a warmup, but it can destroy the voice of others. Do you people actually think that this woman just makes stuff up and doesn't have a team of caretakers ensuring the safety of her voice?
