Rather than emulate the girls I grew up with who made fun of me, I decided I wanted to look like a movie star. It was like an escape. I did so much research, reading books and watching movies about Jean Harlow, Marilyn Monroe, and all of those Hollywood blondes with the boobs, the hips, and the heels. Everything was so exaggerated. Marilyn even had plastic surgery in the ‘40s — a nose job and had her hairline done, and it was a total transformation. Not so different than a transsexual, really. She made herself into what she wanted to be.”

Amanda Lepore looks sad. I think her looks are based on fetish. Fetish is not a good way to live one’s life.
oilburner
Oh Mandy I often wonder how much physical pain you are in from your numerous plastic surgery
Procedures. For a minute there back in the day she was looking pretty darn good. But lately the girls just looking scarier and scarier.

Amanda Lepore is one of the nicest people i have ever known. Never heard her say one bad thing about anyone.Super sweet woman.

@jimbryant:
Jim,
One quick question, have you ever said anything nice or in agreement with anything on this site?
As for Lepore she once said her goal was to be a cross between Jessica Rabbit and Marilyn Monroe. Pretty close. Her life sounds exhausting but if it works for her more power to her.
Will L
@Cam: I fail to see Marilyn. I DO see a lot of Jessica Rabbit.
Fitz
Why would you think your opinion about someone else’s life is important? what makes you an authority? Who the hell told you that Amanda cares what you think?
She’s hurting no one, entertaining many.
Kangol
Amanda Lepore makes a great point about Marilyn Monroe, because the famous movie icon in her public persona became a hyper-example of femininity and sexuality. Hollywood and the media made her this. And in a way this parallels what drag sometimes aims for. So I get her point. Really astute, Amanda!
bruno1950
Ms Lepore, you can live your own fantasy, but comparing yourself to Marilyn should not be one of them…..
SteveDenver
The Amanda Lepore of photographs is vastly different from what appears in person. If getting a nose job and a hairline adjustment is at all comparable to Lepore’s exercises, then the new repainted bumper cover on my car must mean I’m now driving the Batmobile!
DarkZephyr
@SteveDenver: What is your point about how she looks in person VS. Photos?
niles
Rita Hayworth – not Marilyn Monroe – had her hairline raised.
AuntieChrist
Candy Darling really nailed it with the glamour look she was a natural…I think Amanda looks rather cartoonish so yea she got that part right…I love that one of the definitions of glamour is Witchcraft; magic charm; a spell affecting the eye, making objects appear different from what they really are..So she got that part right as well…I want to SLAP JIMBRYANT REAL HARD BITCH IS REALLY STARTING TO PISS ME OFF.

@mizzymm: I guess you have to know her, because she’s rude as hell to strangers on the street.

His posts are making me very concerned.
I’ve never understood Amanda Lepore, is it because I don’t live in US?
Apart from that look what is she famous for?
