Canadian Olympic gold medalist Mark Tewksbury was in the closet throughout his competitive swimming career, but since 1998, he has been out and proud, which basically means trading in lucrative sponsorship deals for less glamorous speaking gigs.
He is currently touring his new book, Inside Out: Straight Talk from a Gay Jock, which was released last month. In the book he talks about the time his dad caught him taking a bath with a Barbie doll, the time he his locker was vandalized in high school, and how he might get gay married just for the presents.
He dishes about coming out as a celebrity, growing up gay, and more in an interview with AfterElton.
