She’s making the same mistake as those who gave money to Obama or voted for him after he bellowed out the bigot’s war cry “gawd’s in the mix” and torpedoed our chances for same sex marriage in California, or people who voted for Clinton after DADT and DOMA.

It’s self destructive.

There is no such thing as a lesser evil. It’s a myth. The Democrats betray us time and again and the Republicans attack us time and agian and that’s not going to change.

That’s the whole idea of “the GayTM is closed.” LGBT people have been that source of suppport for Democrats since the first Clinton campaign in the early 1990s. Billions of dollars and hundreds of millions of votes later, LGBT people are legally WORSE OFF on a federal level than they were before deciding to go for the Democrats thanks to Democrat-supported bills like DADT and DOMA.

When Obama announced that he was going to run with Joe Biden (a pro-DOMA and pro-DADT bigot), LGBT people should have announced they were pulling all funding and staying home on election day. Instead, we sang “Yes we can” and voted for Obama anyway… only to be thrown under the bus.

Democrats have learned that they can do that. The solution isn’t to change strategy so much as it is to grow a spine and tell quislings that they got their last vote and their last campaign dollar and they’ll have to earn it from here on out.

How’s this for a nutty idea… if we assume that politicians, by and large, couldn’t care less about lgbt rights, they just need money from right wing nut jobs, if we started donating money to they, expressing that it came with a string, maybe they’d start to see things our way……

On gay marriage, the former veep’s rhetoric on the issue is far closer to equality than the sitting president. Queerty, as a gay web site, has the right to point that out.

Rather than explode, why not take the rather low bar of Dick Cheney to your own party and say “hey, Mr. Prez, your homophobic do-nothing stance is so embarrassing that even Dick Cheney looks better than you right now.”

Mary Cheney lives in a consequence free world bought and paid for by her fathers political influence. Why should she care about a politicians views on gays? She will never be harmed by any anti-gay laws passed. Just like wealthy royals in Saudi Arabia drink, party, are gay etc… and never suffer under the draconian laws of that country, Mary Cheney can do whatever she wants and her daddy’s folks will always take care of her. I hope that Ivory tower she hides in isn’t too drafty.
