Sure, Gov. Martin O’Malley says he’ll sign a same-sex marriage bill into law if it hits his desk, BUT IT’S NOT UP TO HIM. Oh, you mean the Democrats still have their supermajority in the State House and Senate? And their legislative session, which kicks off today, is expected to include a gay marriage bill? And everybody is rallying behind it? Great, now they’re gonna start another flockalypse!
I have a question for Christianists out there: If God is angry at states with same-sex marriage, then why is He punishing the wildlife in states that already have bans on same-sex marriage in place?
Also, if same-sex marriage will lead to the destruction of “traditional” marriage and society as we know it, then why does Massachusetts still have the lowest divorce rates in the country?

@ChiGuy76
there are two answers to your question
1) god is a c*nt
2) there is no god
either is possible

Maryland is the most affluent state with residents among the most educated so has a great chance of gliding through.

@Kildare: *smh* Don’t take anything for granted.
There are a lot of rural or suburban “blue collar” areas that hold key representation in both chambers. A lot of culturally conservative Blue Dogs are in the General Assembly.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see it pass, but I also wouldn’t be surprised to see them have to turn to civil unions.

“Maryland and Rhode Island”
And probably California too. The standing issue should be wrapped up in a matter of months.
